Sienna stood listening to nurse Gina Harvey, who was the CNO (Chief Nursing Officer) and their Supervisor at Bellevue. After Lucas had summoned her, she had come rushing to his room while Sienna trembled in one corner not knowing what to do. If he complained once about her, she would lose her job. However, thankfully Lucas hadn’t said a word against her. He only demanded that Sienna should be allocated exclusively to him, as his care-giver.

“Ms. Hensley is just an intern, Mr. Donnelly. I’ll arrange for a more experienced nurse for you. We have the best here,” said nurse Harvey to please him more. Sienna prayed that he agreed to nurse Harvey. She wouldn’t be able to stay 24/7 with him! She would go insane! 

“I don’t want anyone else. I want only Sienna Hensley as my nurse else I’ll refuse all treatment at your hospital, Ms. Harvey,” he threatened, his eyes blazing with understated fury. Gina Harvey looked flustered and insulted. She glanced at the trembling girl in the corner with helplessness. Lucas Donnelly was a very powerful man and she knew better than to mess with him. If he wanted the young nurse, then let him have her. Her experienced old eyes could see that the man was smitten with her! 

“Fine, Mr Donnelly. I’ll assign nurse Hensley to you exclusively till you are released from this hospital,” said nurse Harvey. Lucas relaxed a little, having got what he wanted. A small smile played on his lips. He never gave up easily. He always got what he wanted and this time it wasn’t anything else that he wanted. It was Sienna! 

“Thank you, nurse Harvey. That would be all,” he said, eager to dismiss her and have Sienna perform her duties. His wicked mind had already started plotting ways of getting her near him. Nurse Harvey turned towards Sienna who was following the conversation with widened eyes and a rapidly beating heart. Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment thinking what nurse Harvey might be thinking about her! 

“I’ll allocate your other duties to the rest of the staff. I want you to look after Mr Donnelly, exclusively. Any questions?” asked nurse Harvey. Sienna shook her head. 

“If you need any help, you can ask me or nurse Daisy. Clear?” she asked. 

“Yes, nurse Harvey,” said Sienna. 

“Good. Keep him happy,” she whispered into Sienna’s ear, leaning in a little. Sienna’s eyes widened further as nurse Harvey walked away with a little smile on her lips. 

“Close the door. I need you to freshen me up. I’m looking like a corpse,” groaned Lucas. Sienna closed the door and walked up to him. 

“I don’t think you’re looking that bad. In fact Ben did groom you in the morning, didn’t he?” she asked shyly. Lucas raised an eyebrow at her.

“So what if he did. Isn’t it your duty to do what I want you to?” he asked impatiently. “It seems like you forgot what your supervisor asked you to do,” he added with a smirk. ‘The devil!’ Thought Sienna. He had heard nurse Harvey’s parting shot! 

“What do I need to do?” she asked, standing beside him. 

“Change my clothes, first. I've been wearing this since morning,” said Lucas. Sienna looked at him with horror. 

“I’ll call Ben to help, Mr Donnelly. I can’t handle this on my own,” she said. Of course she had done it before with her other patients but with Lucas she was too embarrassed to undress him.

“I’ll have to report you then. It’s a simple task. I’m sure you have seen a naked patient before. Haven’t you?” he asked, his eyes piercing into her emerald pools. 

“Mr Donnelly, please don’t report me,” she begged.

“Then stop calling me that for God’s sake. I’m Lucas to you. C’mon, say it,” he growled impatiently. 

“Okay. I’ll get you a set of fresh clothes,” she said, ready to flee. Lucas caught her wrist.

“No need to go anywhere. Check my drawers. You’ll find a spare set there,” said Lucas. 

“Oh, can you leave me then?” she asked with disappointment in her tone. It seemed as if he just wouldn’t let her catch her breath. Lucas released his grip on her. He knew that he was behaving like an impossible child but it served her right for disappearing on him like that. For a week she had caused him enough sleepless nights so it was fair to make her suffer a little in return!

Sienna pulled out the drawer and took out a clean hospital gown for Lucas. Then she took out a spare clean bed sheet and walked towards him aware of his gaze following her around. It was something she had done numerous times then why was it that her heart was beating faster than it should? She covered him with the white bedsheets first and then untied his soiled gown from the back. Easing it off the arm which was free, she walked around to the other side and effortlessly eased the gown off the arm with the transfusion. Lucas gazed at her with amazement. He didn’t feel at all uncomfortable with her touch and the job was done in the blink of an eye. He had to admit that although just an intern, she was really good at her job. Sienna refused to look at the ripped body exposed in front of her. The tattoo of an eagle on his back and that of an empty heart on his chest intrigued her. His bulging bicep and six pack abs made even her insides aroused with need. 

"There, done,” she said with a smile that took his breath away. 

“Comb my hair,” he asked immediately. Sienna walked to his drawer and picked up his hair brush. She approached him and holding onto his chin, she combed his hair neatly all the while acutely aware of his stare which seemed to be unnerving her. It was better when he was unconscious! She would go crazy if this continued for a few more days. 

“Better?” she asked when she was done. 

“Yeah,” said Lucas, a se*y smile playing on his lips. It made her release him immediately as if scorched.

“Your lunch should arrive soon. I’ll look into your supply of medicine till then,” she said. Lucas nodded and she walked out of his room. Lucas waited for fifteen long minutes for her but there was no sign of her. His food arrived and they helped him fix his table to eat but he refused to eat. Impatiently, he buzzed for Sienna. 

Sienna jumped from her seat at the nursing station. “Isn't it the impossible Donnelly again?” laughed nurse Marilyn.

“He’s bowled over by you, girl,” laughed nurse Stella.

“Nothing of the sort. He just needs constant attention. You know how these celebs are,” shrugged Sienna, quickly finishing her sandwich. 

“I don’t think so, Sien dear. He wouldn’t have asked for you exclusively if it were just for attention. He’s smitten by your beauty,” laughed nurse Mia. It was lunch break and the friends had gathered around the place for a quick bite. Eva got held up at the Neonatal section and was unable to join them. 

The buzzer went off again and Sienna had to run this time to switch it off. The last time, someone else in Lucas’s room might have switched it off. “Catch up later girls. He’ll report me if I don’t go,” she said with an eye roll. The others laughed and Sienna rushed to Lucas’s room. 

She walked inside to see him lying with the food near him, untouched. “What happened? You didn’t have your lunch?” she asked with concern. 

“Shouldn’t you help me with it? I’m unwell, remember?” he asked grumpily. Sienna nodded and placed the food right in front of him. Lucas finally smiled at her patience. He had to applaud her for not losing her temper on him. He ate his food while she arranged his medicines. 

“Did you eat anything?” he asked all of a sudden. Sienna looked up with surprise. No patient had asked her that before. 

“Yeah, thanks for asking,” she answered. “I’ll come back when you’re done to administer the medicines to you,” she told him. Thankfully he nodded and Sienna walked out of his room, relieved that he had stopped being impossible. 

Afterwards, Lucas seemed drowsy and she administered the medicines and he soon dozed off to sleep. Later, Sienna was about to report to Nurse Harvey as she had summoned her when the buzzer went off, making her run to Lucas’s room again. 

“Did you get a good rest?” she asked Lucas who looked better than before. 

“Yeah. I think I’m fit enough to be released. Please call Dr Dresden immediately, “ said Lucas with a frown. 

“Okay, I’ll just have a word with him,” she said, walking away. It was useless to argue with him. He needed a few more days of therapy before he was fit enough to be released. Dr. Dresden was the only one who could make him see sense. So she went to his chamber to consult him. 

Later after a lot of convincing, Lucas agreed to stay at the hospital till Dr Dresden gave him the permission to be released. Sienna’s duty was over finally and she handed over her responsibilities to the night attendant, nurse Susanna, who was middle aged and a motherly kind and great to have around. Relieved, she met nurse Harvey and after updating her, she went home. 

Lucas buzzed for Sienna but instead when he saw another nurse he was furious!
