Chapter Ten

Ryan saw Georgia approaching and he couldn't control the happy smile that wanted to break free. He hadn't been expecting her actually, knowing how crazy her family was. The blue top matched her figure-hugging jeans and clung to her hips, making her look all the more delicious and smoking hot. Although he didn't like her hair being tied her hair up in a bun with loose tendrils flying about her face but atleast she didn't ditch him. That was what mattered the most. He could turn this into a sort of a date. She parked her car and climbed down and walked slowly towards him. Ryan watched her with hooded eyes, the sun's rays played hide and seek with her golden hair creating almost a halo around her. She came closer, her body swaying tantalizingly, the tee shirt clinging tightly to her rounded, full breasts. For a brief moment all Ryan could think was to pull her in his arms and kiss her. But he chided herself for his wayward thoughts.

"Hi! Hope I'm not late," she said nervously, acutely aware of his hot gaze traveling all over her face and body.

"No, just on time, " he drawled in a husky, low voice. "Shall we go inside?" He asked standing straight and picking up his backpack over his shoulders.

"Yeah," said Georgia, clasping her backpack to her chest. They walked inside and saw many students of their class as well. Ryan spoke to the owner, Steve Morrison about the types of cows that he had in his farm. The next two hours they checked out the different types of cows and the way they were looked after. They also did research on the milk output of each type of cow. It was hard real hard work and they both were too exhausted from running around the farm.

"Shall we take a short break?" Asked Ryan, seeing Georgia's flushed face.

"Yes, please. I'm exhausted, " she said. Ryan nodded and pointed at an outlet where the farmer's wife was selling home cooked food and refreshments.

"Let's go and get something to eat," he suggested. They walked together, Ryan's hand brushing hers every now and then, sending electric tingles down her body. She glanced up at him discreetly and blushed crimson to find him staring back at her. He quirked an eyebrow up at her as their eyes met. Georgia couldn't figure out whether he was touching her hand on purpose or just by accident. It looked like it was not an accidental touch. 'What are you thinking, Georgia? He's just a classmate who took pity on you and decided to help you out.' Georgia's mind reasoned with her heart which wanted to believe otherwise. Anyway, it was an absurd thought and Georgia immediately waved it out of her mind.

They bought wholesome beef burgers, tacos and drinks and walked towards a quiet place beside a small gurgling brook running through the farm to eat. It was like a mini picnic with only the two of them. To Georgia, this outing looked more like a date than a study program. She enjoyed every minute of it.

"You have mayo sticking to your mouth," pointed out Ryan, looking at her mouth minutely. Georgia's mind returned back from her crazy thoughts and she looked at Ryan.

"Here?" She asked, picking up a tissue and wiping at her mouth. Ryan shook his head and lifted his hand to wipe the mayonnaise off her lips. Georgia's breath hitched knowing what he was about to do. Would he touch her lips? Would he not use a tissue?

Ryan's eyes held hers in a staring contest as his thumb brushed the corner of her lips. The soft plumpness made him desperately want to feel more and he brushed his thumb more against her lower lip. Georgia gasped as her body trembled with a fierce longing. Ryan retracted his thumb reluctantly and licked the mayo clean. Georgia released the breath that she was holding and looked away with a deep blush staining her cheeks. Strange butterflies started their dance in her stomach and she couldn't control the excited beating of her heart.

Ryan quietly ate his food, chiding himself in his mind. What was he doing? Why couldn't he control himself around her? He needed to get a hold of himself in her presence. He couldn't forget that she was Allen McLean's daughter and his family would be in trouble if he took liberties with her. Yet, his heart leaped with joy everytime she was near and the wish to touch her, feel her was the only thing that was upmost on his mind. After eating silently and awkwardly, they were finally done. The rest of the time they collected data on each type of cattle.

At the end of it, every student needed to offer a little help around the farm before leaving. So, Georgia volunteered to get the cattle feed from the barn while Ryan volunteered to clean the barn.

Ryan watched Georgia collect hay to take it to the cattle. She climbed up a ladder to get the hay from the top of the haystack. Suddenly the ladder started to wobble and she was on the verge of falling down. Ryan rushed forward and caught her in his arms. Georgia squealed with fright and clung to his broad shoulders for dear life. With her face into his neck and with her soft body in his arms, Ryan was lost. When Georgia realized where she had landed, she looked up into Ryan's eyes, her face inches away from his. Two bright spots appeared on her cheeks with embarrassment.

"Thanks for saving me, " she whispered. Ryan nodded yet didn't place her down, his glance was hooked to her sweet, pink lips.

"I'm okay now. Please put me down, " breathed Georgia, growing more crimson by the second.

"You're beautiful!" Whispered Ryan. Georgia's eyes widened and her heart sang with joy. This gorgeous guy over whom all the girls in their college swooned over found her beautiful?

"Thanks," she mumbled, looking away from his gaze.

"Will you come tomorrow again?" He asked her, hopefully. Georgia nodded.

"Yes," she told him.

"Same time?" He asked her and she nodded. He placed her down and went to complete his share of the work. More students came inside to help and their work was done in no time.

Georgia waved and drove off since she received a call from Hannah that she was leaving. Her mom had thrown up her lunch and needed to be fed again after a while. Ryan was disappointed that she left a little early. He wanted to spend more time with her. He returned home and sat down with the research work that he had done but his mind was more on Georgia than on his project.

"Hey bro, coach has kept practice for tomorrow morning," said Ryder as he came into the room. Ryan looked up at him with horror.

"Gawd! When? I need to go to Alpine farm for the project work," he protested.

"6 o'clock, " shrugged Ryder. "We'll finish by 9," he said. But Ryan knew that he wouldn't be able to go by 9. He would need to freshen up first. So he messaged Georgia to come at around 10 o'clock in the morning.

Georgia checked Ryan's message and then started tending to her mom. Later, she decided to speak to her dad about her. This wasn't acceptable. With her health deteriorating, how could he not have her treated by a specialist? She walked towards her dad's room and knocked on the door. After five minutes, the door flew open and a red-faced Meg came out, adjusting her clothes. Georgia's mouth dropped seeing the b*tch. How could they be at it in broad daylight? She felt like throwing up seeing Meg and her dad. He wasn't even worth calling dad! A deep-seated hatred towards her father filled her whole body as she stormed into his room fearlessly.

Her dad was sitting on the couch with a poker face as if he wasn't up to anything a few seconds earlier. "What do you want, Georgia?" He asked sternly.

"Do you have any idea that mom's health is getting worse day by day?" She asked with desperation in her tone.

"So? Everyone knows that she won't survive for long. What's new?" Asked her dad, lighting up a cigarette. Georgia's blood boiled in her veins.

"It's not that she won't survive. The truth is you don't want her to survive. You're the one who's killing her. Why dad? So that you can be free to do the dirty deeds with Meg? You're doing it anyway. Then why kill my mom? Why can't you admit her to a good hospital? Get her treatment. After all she has looked after you for the last forty years of her life," she yelled with annoyance.

"Enough girl. One more word and you'll be grounded for life. Are you getting an education to just go against your own dad?" He asked, standing up.

"I don't mind getting grounded for life. If you don't admit my mom to a hospital, I'll spread word around that you're killing her for your dirty little pleasures with Meg. You want to kill me as well? Go ahead dad. I'm not scared of you but i'll finish your reputation before that, " she yelled and ran out of his room before he could react.
