Chapter One

Aurora wanted to avoid Daxton knowing that Chris would send someone to find out whether she was interacting with any guy or not. But Daxton didn't want to be ignored. He approached her to talk to her.

"Aurora, wait," he yelled and parked his motorcycle right next to her.

"Daxton, Chris found out. Please go now. I'll talk later," she said walking away.

"I can't just go away. You hardly talk to me, " complained Daxton.

"I can't. Please try to understand, " she told him. She had explained to him about her brothers and daxton had hated them instantly. Hoe could they control their sister's life like this?

Daxton sighed. "I get it. You don't want to talk to me," he said, looking heartbroken and upset. He started his motorcycle to go away when Aurora blew him a kiss, shyly. Daxton was over the moon. He captured her kiss and placed it on his heart, riding away happily. However as luck would have it, suddenly Aurora's brother, Christopher Miller appeared before him out of no where. Clad in his cop's uniform, he glared at him and Daxton lost his balance and hit a pole, falling from his motorcycle.

"Daxton, oh my God!" Said Aurora, rushing towards him to help him but the motorcycle was too heavy and so was he. Tears sprang into her eyes seeing him hurt. "I'm sorry, you got hurt because of me, " she said as the fat tears fell one by one from her eyes.

"Aura, go home. I'll handle the boy. Hey! Aren't you the same one who was loitering around our house the other day?" Yelled Chris with a disgusted look on his face.

"No bro. Daxton needs my help," she answered stubbornly.

"I'm okay, you go home Aurora. I'll see you later, " said Daxton, as he tried to get up. Aurora sighed and walked away.

"Hey, tell me your address. I'll drop you home and talk to your dad too," yelled Chris.

"No thanks. You've already done what you could. I can help myself, " said Daxton, in a pissed off tone. Chris glared at him.

"Don't use that tone on me, boy. I'll destroy you," warned Chris.

"That's all you can do," said Daxton, trying to get up, gritting his teeth to bear the pain on his arm. His forehead had a deep gash and it was bleeding. He got up somehow and staggered around, then regaining his balance, he sat down on the pavement.

"Why don't you call someone to help you?" Suggested Chris, watching him.

"I'll do whatever I can. Thanks for your concern," said Daxton.

"If you wouldn't have been injured, I would have had you arrested for disturbing my sister, " said Chris angrily.

"Arrested for what? For just greeting her everyday? That's all I ever do, officer, nothing else. I don't think I've committed any crime," said Daxton, scrolling down the contact list on his phone. He called his best friend, Brandon Hughes who was at college with him. He agreed to come and help him as soon as possible.

Chris walked away with a shrug and a grim expression and after this episode Daxton was sure that he hated Aurora's brothers very much.

After five minutes a worried Brandon who lived nearby came jogging towards him. "Do you need to go to the hospital?" Asked Brandon picking up Daxton's motorcycle.

"No, just take me home, Bran," he told him. Brandon started the motorcycle and Daxton somehow climbed onto it.

"How did you fall?" Asked Brandon as they rode towards Daxton's home. Daxton told him about about Aurora and her horrid brother Chris. Brandon groaned.

"Of all the people in my neighborhood, you had to fall for that family? They're weird. We all pity the girl," admitted Brandon. Daxton shrugged, the heart likes who it wants to like. You have no control over the matters of the heart. They reached Daxton's home and his ma was shocked seeing his condition.

"Throw that motorcycle away. You're not riding it anymore," said his ma strictly. Daxton rolled his eyes.

"Ma it's not the motorcycle's fault if someone suddenly appears before it, " Daxton argued. His ma shook her head.

"Has everyone gone crazy? Who comes in front of a motorbike like that?" She asked flailing her arms. Brandon and his ma helped him to his room. After everyone left, Drake and to sit with him.

"Does this have something to do with Aurora, bro?" He asked, suspiciously. Daxton nodded.

"Aurora's brother came in front of my motorcycle and I lost control. He's a crazy cop," informed Daxton. All the brothers were very close to one another and as such their lives were so intertwined that no one held secrets from the others.

"Why did you and Den have to be associated with cops?" Asked Drake.

"Tell me about it. At least officer Brad loves his wife but Aurora's brothers don't know the word. It doesn't feature in their dictionary, " said Daxton.

"You know what they need?" Asked Sean, walking into the room. He had returned home early from work. Both Sean and Stuart worked at Omega Food Corps. after graduating in Food Technology.

"What?" Asked Daxton.

"They need to fall in love, the mad kind. That is the only way they would soften towards Aurora, " said Sean.

"I agree," said Drake, wisely.

"Shut up, Drake. You're just a twelve year old kid, " said Sean.

"Yet I know more about love than you do," said Drake. His brothers rolled their eyes. Timmy walked in looking perfectly happy. "And so does Timmy," added Drake. Timmy was in love with Nate's pet Queen and together they'd already produced batches of lazy pups. So actually speaking, he was the most experienced amongst them all. They chuckled seeing him grooming his tool, his pride, readying it for his next attempt.

"Stuart and Allison's coming home tomorrow," said Sean. Stuart and Allison had gone off to Miami for their honeymoon and were returning home tomorrow. With Sean and Vienna's wedding coming up next, there was never a dull moment in their lives. The whole family was planning to go shopping for their upcoming wedding the next day but of course Daxton couldn't go since he was hurt.

So he sulked and sulked upstairs in his room. The doorbell rang and after ten minutes, his eyes popped out seeing Aurora standing at the door of his room. He jumped up with shock. "You? What are you doing here?" He asked, standing up.

"I came to see you," she told him, looking a little nervous.

"Oh, how did you find out my house?" Asked Daxton with a smile. "Come on in." She walked into his room, looking around.

"I saw Brandon helping you so I asked him. He told me," informed Aurora. Daxton quickly grabbed his soiled clothes and underwear from the couch and hid them in the laundry basket in his en-suite. Then his eyes fell upon the empty beer bottle on his window sill! He pushed it behind the curtain and smiled at her. She sat down at the edge of his bed.

"I'm sorry that you had to face all this. Chris created a lot of drama at home. It's a cold war going on at home, " she sighed.

"It's no big deal, Aurora. Please don't apologize. I can do anything for you," he told her.

"Why? We're just friends, aren't we?" She asked with curiosity.

"I don't think I want to be just friends with you," said Daxton.

"I might not stay here in Houston anymore, Daxton. My brothers are planning to send me away to my grandparents house in Richmond, Virginia," said Aurora. She didn't look unhappy at all at the prospect of being sent away so far but the news made Daxton clutch at his heart.

"That's awful news Aurora. How will I meet you everyday if you go away?" Asked Daxton, hopelessly.

"Even if I stayed you wouldn't have been able to meet me, Daxton," she told him. Daxton sighed. It seemed that she wanted to go away.

"Do you want to leave Houston?" He asked. If she wanted to leave then it was no point holding her back.

"Yes, I hate my life here. My grandparents are very loving. I'll be happy there. I might never return to Houston," she told him.

"Never is a very strong word, Aurora. Always remember that I'd be waiting for you forever, " he whispered as a promise to her. His heart was breaking at her words. "If you don't return, I'll go to Richmond to look for you."

Aurora smiled. She knew that his infatuation would wither away after a year or two and he would definitely move on. "Take care Daxton. I'll go home now, " she said, getting up.

Aurora came to see him the next day too when the whole family had gone shopping. She stayed for fifteen minutes and Daxton had the feeling that it was the last time that they were meeting.

"I like you Daxton. Hope you have a wonderful life ahead of you," she told him. They had talked about her resignation from her library job, about Richmond and also about her grandparents a little. She got up to leave and then on second thought leaned to plant a kiss on his cheek. Daxton knew that it was the final goodbye. He turned his head and the kiss landed on his lips. He glided his hot tongue along her lips, savoring the taste of her, committing it to his memory. He parted her mouth and plunged his tongue into her mouth and tasted her thoroughly. It was the first time that Aurora had been kissed. She caught onto his shirt and kissed him back. Daxton was lost in her sweetness, he wanted more of her. His hand tangled into her hair and he kissed her passionately. A moan escaped her mouth.

When they finally separated breathing hard, there were tears in both of their eyes. Aurora was too choked to day a word and Daxton just stared at her wordlessly. She turned and left his house quietly. That was the last time Daxton saw her. She had left Houston forever.
