Chapter Ten
At last Lisa's classes got over and she went out of the building excitedly. She looked all around for Liam's car but couldn't find him anywhere. Did he forget their date? Meeting Liam and spending time with him was the only thing she looked forward to in her otherwise dull and dismal life. Disappointed, she stood waiting, looking around her. Then she saw him on a motorcycle as he took out his helmet so that she could recognize him. He rode towards her and came to a stop right in front of her.
"What? Missing me? " he asked with a grin. Lisa rolled her eyes.
"Not at all. Just looking whether you had come to drop me home or should I call Tim," she lied with a bigger smirk on her face.
"Who's TIm? " Asked Liam with a frown.
"Someone who I can always rely upon, " she said, with a wide smile, enjoying the teasing. Liam caught her wrist and pulled her close.
"Who? " he asked quite displeased by now.
"Liam, my friends are watching," she whispered aware of a few students standing a little further, gaping at them.
"I don't care. Now tell me who this Tim is," he ordered.
"My chauffeur, silly. He's nearly as old as my dad," Lisa laughed out loud. Liam simply stared at her. Her laughter made his heart skip a beat. She rarely laughed but when she did, he couldn't help but clutch at his heart, preventing it from jumping out and going over to her. Preventing it from falling in love with her.
"I was just asking," he said, releasing her and putting on his helmet to hide the faint colour to his cheeks. Lisa giggled. He would never admit that he was jealous.
He handed her a spare helmet, smaller than his to fit her perfectly. "Are you in the habit of giving lifts to girls like me?" She asked looking at the helmet. Liam chuckled.
"Even Serenity hasn't taken a lift from me ever. I bought this helmet only for you before coming here," said Liam. A small smile tugged at the corners of Lisa's mouth at the knowledge. She adjusted the helmet on her head and then held Liam's shoulders lightly before climbing onto his motorcycle. Liam didn't want her to let go but to his dismay, she let go of his shoulders and settled down on the seat.
"Hold me, " said Liam but Lisa shook her head.
"I'm holding onto the seat," she said with a smile. "I won't fall," she added.
"I want you to hold me," he admitted reluctantly.
Lisa held his shoulder softly but it wasn't enough for Liam. He held her hand and pulled it around his torso, making her come closer against his back. He started his motorcycle with a smile and rode on.
Lisa felt his hard muscles rippling under her palms. She felt a strange excitement course through her whole body at his nearness. She hadn't felt it when Leo pulled her onto his lap once. In fact she'd been upset with him and had slapped him. But now, pressed against Liam, she just didn't want to let go.
"Where are we going?" She asked him with curiosity.
Liam smiled and just picked up a little more speed. Lisa clasped onto his torso tightly. "Hey, where are we flying off to? Tell me please. I hate surprises," she insisted.
"You'll see," he smiled more. Lisa rolled her eyes. That cliche dialogue which she hated a lot. They were headed for the Strip, that she was sure of. Soon Liam rode into Adventuredome which was a 5-acre indoor amusement park located at Circus Circus in Winchester, Nevada on the Las Vegas Strip. Lisa squealed with delight after realising that they were headed to an amusement park. She had always wanted to visit one but only had a chance two years back when she had come here on a school trip.
"I love amusement parks. I've never been to one apart from a school trip two years back," she said, getting down from the motorbike. Liam parked his motorcycle and climbed down too. He took off his helmet and then stored his and Lisa's.
"I came here nearly twenty times," said Liam with a grin. "But first time with a girl who's not my sister," he told her and she smiled at the knowledge, feeling a little giddy. Did that mean that she was special to him?
He led her to the counter to purchase the tickets. Then they went inside to check out the innumerable rides and attractions. Lisa wanted to go for the 18 holes of miniature golf called Pirate's Bounty. She was scared of the extreme rides so they hopped onto a circus carousel. Lisa's shrill laughter and shrieks of joy gave a strange sense of satisfaction to Liam as they hopped from one ride to the other. They checked out the Highway 66 which was a mini-bowling game. Then after seeing the free Circus Clown Show, Lisa felt her stomach grumble. She had skipped breakfast because of her parents in the morning.
"Let's eat. I'm ravenous, " said an excited Lisa. Liam nodded and led her to a popular pizza joint in the area. Liam ordered breaded chicken fingers and spaghetti Marinara, Lisa chose a pizza and Italian Calzones stuffed with sausages and pepperoni and mozzarella. They shared the delicious food, washing it down with plain water and diet coke. Afterwards, they walked hand in hand to the parking area to Liam's motorcycle.
"Did you enjoy our date Lisa?" Asked Liam eagerly.
"Yes very much, thank you. I love going on dates," she said with a smile.
"Are you planning on going on a date with others too?" He asked curiously feeling a little disappointed.
"No, I like going on a date with you," she said shyly.
"But our date's incomplete, " he said looking at her face minutely.
"How?" She asked puzzled.
"You didn't give me my kiss. It's a part and parcel of going out on a date with me," he told her. Lisa looked at her with wide eyes.
"Do you always kiss on a date?" She asked him curiously.
"No, only with you I want to," he said with a different expression on his face. A look that she couldn't decipher.
"How many dates have you been to?" She wanted to know.
"Ten or eleven but none have been as interesting as the ones with you," he told her, handing her the helmet. They fixed the helmets onto their heads. Lisa climbed onto his motorcycle and they sped off towards home, both not wanting their date to come to an end. He stopped his motorbike a few blocks away from her house and took off his helmet.
"Take it off, Lisa, here let me help you," he said eagerly, taking off the helmet from her head and keeping it away. "So now give me what I need," he said softly. Lisa smiled shyly feeling too self conscious with him staring at her with eyes full of desire and longing.
She went forward slightly and shyly kissed his cheek as he watched her without batting an eyelid. It wasn't enough for Liam, he just caught her by her waist and pulled her into his arms and claimed her lips with a hunger that turned Lisa's legs to jelly. She clung onto his shoulders for support and kissed him back eagerly.
"Lisa has become so shameless these days. No wonder her parents are always complaining about her," said a voice walking down the street to the departmental store ahead. Lisa broke free and looked around to see the hateful stare of Jessica Colebrook, her neighbor and her mom's best friend. What was she doing at a dead end three blocks away from her house? Liam controlled the urge to speak to the woman and correct her as Lisa caught hold of his arm. He simply climbed onto his motorcycle with Lisa behind him and sped away to her house to drop her home.
"Who was she? Do you know her?" Asked Liam with concern.
"Yes, she's my next door neighbour and my mom's best friend," said Lisa with dismay. She was scared knowing that Jessica Colebrook would now spread the news everywhere that she had seen Lisa making out with a boy. It would surely reach her mom's ears and then all drama would start. Her mom would surely make her life a living hell till she found out what was going on.
"Will she report you?" Asked Liam feeling very guilty.
"Yes definitely she will," said Lisa with a sigh.
"I can talk to your parents about us if you want me to," said Liam. He liked Lisa and was pretty much serious about her. What he felt for her wasn't a short term fling! He could talk to her parents if that would help Lisa. He didn't want her to fall into any trouble because of him.
"No please. No. My parents wouldn't take it nicely. See you on Tuesday evening at 6, music school, " she said, walking into her house with an upset expression. Liam sat slunped, looking at her with worried expression on his face.
