Chapter Three

Lisa looked at Liam with horror. "No, please don't come home. I hardly stay there. I stay at my best friend's house," she informed him.

Liam was disappointed by what she said. He felt that she was lying to avoid him.  Lisa looked behind his shoulder.

"I gotta go. Laurence is coming here to  get me," she lied. It worked as Liam suddenly released her to look over his shoulders. Lisa ran towards her brother. Liam chuckled at her bluff. This time she got him and escaped easily. Next time he wouldn't be fooled so easily.

The Lennards left the party. Laurence quietly drove them home. Their mom sat with a smug expression on her face. "Good going Lisa. You had Liam Parker literally eating out of your hands. I'm very happy with you," she said with a small smile.

Lisa scowled at her mom. "I did nothing mom. I don't care what Liam Parker was doing. That was the last time I'd meet him anyways, " she said sarcastically.

"Don't talk back that way, Lisa. Of course you'll meet him. I'll ensure that you did," said her mom, again with that smug look on her face.

"I'll go stay with Sofia. You plan whatever you want to, " said Lisa.

"You won't do any such thing. Harry make that girl understand, " scowled her mom.

"I'll lock her up like last time. Don't worry Penny," said their dad. Laurence shook his head with disappointment. He hated his parents for finishing his life and now they were after Lisa's life. They didn't deserve to be parents.

That quietened Lisa. She sulked on her seat, planning her escape. She would  never give in to their wishes. She wasn't a gold digger like them. She wouldn't let them lock her up again.

Laurence drove into their underground parking area and switched off the ignition. Lisa had already messaged Leo on her way to come and get her. She opened the gate and ran towards the main door and out of it. Leo was waiting outside in his car. She climbed onto his passenger seat and he drove off, leaving her parents spellbound and helpless.

"Hey Lisa, what's gotten into you this time?" Asked a grinning Leo. He was two years older and always there to help her. His eyes danced with excitement at the sight of her. He liked her. He was waiting for the day he could make her his girlfriend.

"Dad was threatening to lock me up again if I didn't dance to their music," she told him, rolling her eyes. Her life had become a laughing stock in front of her friends. Why couldn't she have normal parents?

"That's bad, why don't you move in with me? I'll be renting an apartment for myself soon, " said Leo, looking at her delicious body with lust in his eyes.

"God, you're so creepy. I'm fine at Sofia's house. You move in with your girlfriend," said Lisa. She was least interested in Leo. As a friend he was nice and helped her always but nothing more than that. Leo had an on and off girlfriend called Kim and Lisa was least interested to know more about him.

"You're so boring, Lisa, " he said, driving towards Sofia's house. Lisa couldn't help but compare him to Liam. Liam was so much better and made her feel so alive. If only her parents would let her be, maybe she would have fallen for Liam.

They reached Sofia's house and Lisa jumped out and headed straight into Sofia's room. "Hey girl. I'd been waiting for you for so long. So how did the meet with your Liam go?" Lisa told her everything as she changed into her pajamas. She had already messaged Laurence where she was so he didn't bother her anymore.

"You're trying to say that Liam Parker wanted to meet you again?" Squealed Sofia. Her door opened and Victoria walked in.

"What are you guys squealing at?" So they repeated everything to her and she too squealed with delight.

"What's so exciting in that? As if I'll ever meet him again, " said Lisa with a bored look on her face.

"Why not? Is your life finished?" Asked Sofia glaring at her. There was a knock on their door and Sofia and Victoria's mom, Ava Blakesley came into the room.

"Lisa have you had your dinner?" She asked her.

"Yes aunt Ava," she answered.

"Fine then. Go off to sleep,  good night girls," she said going out.

"Good night, " they chorused. Leo peeped inside.

"I'm sleeping with you guys tonight," he grinned.

They all threw the pillows at him. "Get lost,  you bug, " squealed Sofia.

"You guys get hyper when Lisa comes home," he complained.

"And you get creepy," said Victoria.

Leo grinned and left. The girls closed their key hole and switched off the lights and went to sleep.

"Tomorrow, we'll discuss where we left off. We need to know everything about Liam Parker, " said Sofia. Lisa groaned and covered her head with a pillow.

"Goodnight, " she said in a muffled tone. She didn't want to discuss anything about Liam. What she felt for him was better kept hidden inside her heart.

The next morning, the girls got ready for school. Leo drove them as he too was in the same school in his last year. His exams were near the corner and he would soon enroll into a college. They would heave a sigh of relief and be free to do anything at school. "Lisa, wait for me at your locker at lunch break, " said Leo walking off with his best friend Sawyer.

Before she could ask him why he had disappeared. They went to class to attend the boring lectures. They had woken up late thankfully and couldn't discuss Liam at all. Lisa didn't wait for Leo at lunch break. They hungrily ate burgers and chips and discussed the homework for the upcoming math class. It seemed none of them had done it. They quickly sat down to copy the homework from another batchmate. All talks about Liam forgotten.

Liam Parker wasn't one to be discouraged. The next day itself he had appointed a private investigator to get him all details about Lisa Lennard. He sat down with her details,  scanning every page, every photograph on his laptop that his PI had sent him.

So, she lived with her best friend Sofia and went to Glendale High together. He noted the address of Sofia's house as well as her school. She learnt music too and went to a music school. He noted down the address too. His sister Serenity was in San Francisco and Lucas and his wife were away on a honeymoon. So he had the whole house to himself as his parents were at Tyler's house.

He called his closest friends, Dave Jonson and Kevin Ardley and opened his heart out to them. They were his school friends and the trio had stuck together through thick and thin.

"What do I do now?" Asked Liam showing them what he had found out about Lisa.

"Stalk her and go meet her," said Dave.

"Meet her at her music school," said Kevin and Liam's face brightened up. He liked the idea.

"Yeah, I'll do that," said Liam. They drank and discussed the whole night till all three of them passed out.

Liam decided to follow Lisa to her music school the next day. But as luck would have it, he found out that she had taken leave due to her upcoming term end exams.  He would then come back after ten days when she rejoined her classes.

But after ten days, an upset Serenity returned from San Francisco after a misunderstanding with Alexander whom she loved. The next few days went by in utter confusion as she agreed to marrying Laurence Lennard. Liam was shocked to the roots of his hair. Apparently at Lucas's wedding, Harry Lennard had asked for Serenity's hand for his son, Laurence. He had produced his divorce certificate with his previous wife, some poor gold digger called Arianna Willis who just wanted their money. Eric Parker had bought the story and now the whole family wanted to get them married. Liam tried his level best to convince his sister to talk to Alexander and clear their misunderstandings but she didn't listen to him.

The wedding preparations were being done and it would happen in two days. What was the hurry, Liam had no idea.  He just went with the flow. He had tried calling Lucas but his phone was switched off. He tried calling Alexander too, strangely his phone was also switched off.

The small engagement get together was arranged by the Parker family. Liam waited impatiently to finally be able to see Lisa but when the Lennards arrived he saw that Lisa hadn't come with them. He was very disappointed. He had no idea why Lisa missed her brother's engagement party. He tried not to show his disappointment and went through the party with the hope of seeing her on the wedding day.

But she didn't arrive even on the day of her brother's wedding! Liam was more frustrated than ever.
