Chapter Two
"I saved her from drowning. She doesn't have anywhere to go to so I brought her here with me," said Sean without giving out much detail. The others looked at him, all green with jealousy.
"Why do these things happen only with him?" Victor asked Andrew and Ethan and they seriously shook their heads with disbelief.
"Beats me," said Andrew, eyeing a smirking Sean.
"That's 'coz I'm blessed, " said Sean trying to make them more jealous.
"Blessed, my a*s," muttered Ethan.
Inside the small washroom of the vehicle, a tired Vienna tried on the clothes the blue-eyed man gave her. The clothes were too big for her. She wore the tee shirt which covered her adequately. She wore his shorts but they fell down her narrow waist. She needed a belt to fix it in place. Giving up she thought of opening the door and asking for a belt when she heard the blue-eyed man talk about her to his friends. She was thankful that he didn't give out much information about her.
He was much older than her but somehow she felt oddly comfortable in his presence. Despite his rippling muscles, tattoos, and bad boy look, she felt protected in his presence. She closed her eyes as she thought about her narrow escape from her uncle Calvin Russell.
Her life had become a mess after the death of her dad, Gavin Russell. He was a successful real estate lawyer, having earned a lot in his entire lifetime. Her parents had separated when she was six and her dad had gained custody of her. She was too young to know what had gone wrong between them. After their parents' separation, her dad had gained more success and had earned more money. He had invested all his wealth wisely and they multiplied by leaps and bounds.
Her mom however remarried after a year of leaving them. She didn't keep in touch with anyone and neither did they.
Vienna had always hated her uncle, her father's younger brother all her life. Calvin Russell was a bachelor and had lousy ways, drinking, gambling, and doing every bad thing in the world. Her dad had tried to reform him many times but without any success. Calvin was always jealous of his older brother's success and wealth. He wanted all his wealth and they had nasty fights over money.
Although there wasn't any proof Vienna knew that it was her uncle who had poisoned her dad's dinner that night which caused his death. She had skipped dinner due to menstrual cramps else she would also have been dead by now. But the police considered the cause of death as suicide from consuming poison, Vienna had no way of proving it otherwise.
After her father's death, she had spent two months with her aunt Greta who was pregnant. Vienna gave her support as her husband was away on a work tour. Aunt Greta was her mom's youngest sister. She didn't have anyone with her. It was from her that she had heard that her mom was terminally ill with leukemia.
However, Vienna's peace of mind was disrupted when her uncle Calvin visited her at her aunt Greta's house and brought her along with him to a small log cabin on the outskirts of Montgomery far away from her fathers' house in Dallas, Texas. It was a small town near Lake Conroe, Texas. She had begged him to release her but he had paid no heed to her pleas.
Her dad had already written a will naming her as the sole beneficiary of everything he had possessed. So the next few months her uncle had tried every possible way to torture her to sign away the wealth to him. When all attempts had failed he had torn her clothes off and had tried to rape her to submission. She, however, had kicked him in his weak spot to escape him. Taking advantage of his momentary weakness, she had picked up a nearby glass coffee table and had broken it over her uncle's head. When her uncle had fallen unconscious, she had extracted the keys from his pocket, had unlocked the door, and fled from the house. In her panic, she had forgotten that her uncle had stripped her off her clothes leaving her only in her underwear but she couldn't go back.
A truck loaded with farm produce was parked nearby and she had climbed onto it and had hidden among the produce. The truck crossed the Lake Conroe area and she got down. Walking through the wooded area, she had come to the edge of the lake. She knew that she couldn't escape far clad only in her underwear. Her uncle would find her soon. So she decided to end her life than be ra*ed by her uncle.
She was doing just that when a blue-eyed Greek God-like creature saved her again and again. She opened her eyes at the small tap on the door of the washroom.
"Is she an asleep man? Check check," said Victor.
"You guys move back. I'm going in to check, " said Sean.
"Man he's so lucky. He's going into the washroom with her," said Andrew, greener than ever with jealousy.
Sean rolled his eyes at his friends and tapped softly on the door of the washroom. "Vienna, are you okay?" He asked softly. She opened the washroom door a little and peered out at him.
"No, can you get me a belt? These shorts are too big for me," she said shyly.
"Wait, Victor get my belt man," he ordered. He couldn't leave his guard of the washroom door in case she got scared of the three curious monkeys stationed outside. Victor muttered curses at him and got his belt and threw it at him. He caught it and handed it out to Vienna. She took it, "thanks," she said softly and closed the door. The monkeys sighed heavily.
The door again opened and Vienna peered at Sean. "Can you help me fix it please?" She asked shyly. Sean's eyes went round with anxiety. Now he'd surely need to soak himself perpetually into a cold bathtub. A cold shower too wouldn't relieve him!
He nodded and went into the small washroom with her. The other boys sat down on the floor with dismay. "He went inside with her man. So lucky," said Victor, holding onto his head. Some people were born with all the luck in the world!
Sean saw that she was holding onto his shorts tightly. "Please can you just tie the belt around?" She asked and Sean nodded. There was not much room for two people inside the washroom. Standing so close to her he could see that she was too gorgeous for her own good. He placed the belt around her and tried to tie it to the best of his abilities.
"There, done. I'll get some proper clothes for you tomorrow morning. Wear this in the meantime," he said and she nodded.
"Thanks for saving me," she whispered. Sean grinned happily at her.
"The pleasures all mine, princess," he said with a gleam in his eyes.
"I still don't know your name," she said shyly.
"Sean Taylor, " he said and she smiled, liking the name. It suited him so well.
"Shall we go outside? They're wondering what we're up to," said Sean with a grin. Vienna nodded, blushing at his remark. Sean opened the door and sure enough, all of them were just outside the washroom.
"Don't you guys have any other work to do?" Asked a disgusted Sean.
"Nope, we're waiting to be introduced, " said Ethan. So Sean reluctantly introduced them to Vienna.
"Meet my besties, that's Victor, that's Andrew and that's Ethan," said Sean, pointing sequentially.
"Guys this is Vienna, " said Sean.
"Hi Vienna," they chorused. She smiled at them shyly.
"You rest on that bed, Vienna. This is a six-bedded RV pad and we're just four. So there's ample room for you," said Sean, pointing at a free bed. "I'll just have a talk with the guys and get dinner for you."
"No, please don't go," squeaked Vienna scared to be all alone on the vehicle.
"It's okay. Don't be scared. I'm not leaving the vehicle, " he reassured her. Sean led his friends away towards the door. They all got down with him.
"What? Are you throwing us out bro?" Asked a melodramatic Victor.
"No first and foremost, the girl's mine. She's off-limits for you. Second, she's a sister to all of you guys, treat her like one. Third, she's gone through a lot. Don't tell anyone about her. Understood?" Said Sean sternly.
"I've got the third point, " said Andrew with a smirk.
"He's kidding bro. No need to get all hyper," said Victor seeing a seething Sean.
"You better get it else I can talk in another way," said Sean mad with fury.
"Hey bro calm down. We've got it. You're a goner," said Ethan with a grin.
"You go to your girl while we go and get us dinner," said Andrew. They walked away to get dinner and Sean climbed back into the vehicle to Vienna.
