Chapter Forty-Two
The next whole week Laurence, Arianna and Lauren stayed together at the hospital room, bonding with one another. Lauren was bowled over by her daddy and she clung to him all the time. Arianna was stable and improving nicely, so she was discharged from the hospital. Ben and his whole family came to meet them at the hospital to say their goodbyes. It was a very emotional moment for everyone.
Two attendants from the hospital helped her board Laurence's jet. Lauren stared at the huge sleek jet. "Daddy has an airplane?" She asked with awe.
"Yes, now it's yours," said Laurence and she squealed with delight.
"Thank you daddy, you best daddy ever," she squealed. Laurence smiled and picked her up and boarded his jet after Arianna. The attendants helped her settle down on the seats for take off. Laurence too settled down with Lauren on his lap. One of the attendants would fly to Vegas with them. Once he made arrangements for a full time nurse for Arianna, he would release her.
They took off and were on their way home. They all shifted to the bedroom to make Arianna more comfortable. Arianna occupied a whole bed alone while Laurence and Lauren shared a bed. "Do you remember this bedroom, Aria?" He asked her, his eyes shining with the love that he felt for her.
"Yes Laurence, this is where I conceived Lauren," she whispered. Lauren was busy playing with her new toys that Laurence had got for her to keep her occupied.
"Yes, I know. We will again enjoy life like before once you get better," he said.
"I'm glad that we reunited Laurence. I still can't believe my luck," she said to him.
"This is real baby. I will protect the two of you with everything I have," said Laurence fiercely. "Mom has left home forever. She has packed her stuff and fled with her boyfriend, " Laurence informed her. Arianna stared at him with her mouth hanging open.
"Oh, when?" She asked.
"Sandra called me last night. The day I came to see you, she left home. I had frozen dad's bank accounts since he was paying millions to his goons. Maybe she lost all hope since no hitman will work for them without a payment," informed Laurence.
Arianna smiled with relief. "That means my life isn't on danger anymore?" She asked him relieved.
"No, Antony's very professional. He only works for money. My private investigator just called me yesterday that Jake had died in an encounter last month. After Samuel informed me I had asked my PI to make investigations, " said Laurence. "So yes we are all safe."
"That's good news, Laurence, " said Arianna relieved.
"I had gone to Isabella's house after recovery, " he informed her.
"Oh I had been calling Isabella that day but the call didn't go through. I was angry with her after that and I never called her afterwards, " informed Arianna.
"Isabella left home when Weston announced his wedding plans. They had no clue where she went. She had changed her number too," informed Laurence in a grave voice.
"Daddy play," said Lauren with a pout. Laurence started playing with her. Arianna closed her eyes and thought about what Isabella might havr gone through. She had loved Weston all her life. Once she was better, she would surely go home to meet them.
Arianna watched Laurence and lauren play together and giggle together and her heart swelled with love for her small family. Soon she fell asleep out of exhaustion.
Laurence woke her up since they were about to land. Her attendant shifted her to the landing seat. Laurence sat strapped with Lauren in his lap and they smoothly landed at Las Vegas. Her attendant helped her off the aircraft onto a waiting ambulance. Even Laurence and Lauren climbed into it. Her attendant stayed with her. There was another car to bring their luggage home. It followed them all the way to Laurence's new home. Sandra and Lisa were already there to welcome them.
The moment the ambulance stopped, and Sandra saw Arianna, tears of happiness streamed down her cheeks. Even Lisa was in tears. Sandra came forward to help get Arianna out of the ambulance.
"Arianna, welcome home," said Lisa with tears in her eyes. "I've prayed every single day for your return," she said, kissing Arianna's cheek.
"Thanks Lisa. It's because of you that Laurence could find me," she said, kissing her back. A smiling and relieved Laurence alighted with Lauren in his arms.
"Oooo, she's so cute, bro," said Lisa rushing to take Lauren from him. Sandra hugged Arianna in a gentle embrace.
"I'm so glad that you're home at last, Arianna, " she said wiping her tears.
Lauren was sleepy so they went inside quickly. Sandra took her to feed her and out her to bed as soon as possible. Arianna's attendant took her to Laurence's bedroom and helped her to the bed. Lisa excitedly helped Sandra as well as her attendant. Laurence smiled indulgently at her. He was glad that at last she had settled down into his house, at last she had a place to call home.
"Are you comfortable darling?" Asked Laurence, coming into the bedroom. The attendant left to give them privacy. The nursery was just next to their room and Sandra and Lisa were there with Lauren.
"Yes Laurence, it's a beautiful house. I love it. It feels like home," said Arianna looking around the room done up tastefully in neutral colours and expensive furniture and furnishings. It was a two storied sprawling house with a swimming pool and a kids pool too. There was a big garden in the backyard with a fountain. There was a kids play ground with a swing, a slide and a sand pit too.
"I'm glad you like it," said Laurence, sitting down beside her. He leaned down and kissed her longingly. "Get well soon. Our marriage bed's waiting for us, " he whispered into her ear when he broke the kiss.
"I can't wait to get better and on my feet again. I'm tired of resting and resting," she said with a pout.
"Give it time, darling," he suggested. "I've contacted a good orthopaedic surgeon. He'll come over tomorrow to check you up," said Laurence and Arianna nodded. The attendant brought Arianna some soup and Laurence left to check up on Lauren.
The doorbell rang and Laurence's neighbour, Mrs Bridgette Harrison, who was a sixty year old woman came in to check up on them.
Afterwards Troy came to meet them. Laurence sat in the reception room with Troy, sharing a drink and discussing everything that happened so far, everything that Laurence found out from Samuel.
The doorbell rang and Laurence went to get it. It was Bridgette Harrison's grand daughter, Athena who came to get the keys to the house from her grandma. Troy stared at her, hypnotised by her. She was exquisitely beautiful like some Greek Goddess with dark cascading hair, deep chocolate brown eyes, svelte figure to die for. She might be returning home from some party he thought staring at her delicious figure clad in a pale golden gown.
"Please come inside Athena. Won't you meet my wife and daughter? Your grandma's upstairs with them," he said to her. He had met them when he was having the house renovated. She came inside shyly and her eyes fell upon a dumbstruck Troy.
"This is my best friend, Troy Wagner," said Laurence, discreetly nudging Troy to bring him back to earth. "Troy my neighbour, Athena Harrison," introduced Laurence.
"Whoa, Greek mythology unites here in Laurence's house! I can't believe it. Where were you for so long?" Said Troy. Athena blushed and rolled her eyes at this strange creature.
"I'm out of here," she said running away to search for her grandma.
"Seriously bro? That was all you could come up with on your first meeting with a girl? She'll run for the hills of Greece next time she sees you," said Laurence.
"What can I do? I'm already bowled over by her beauty, " said Troy with his hand on his heart.
"Shut up dude. You're into my neighbour of all the women in the world? " asked Laurence.
"Did you forget the saying, 'love thy neighbour'?" Asked Troy with a grin.
"But she isn't your neighbour, " said Laurence. This guy was too much. He wouldn't let him live in peace. If he had an affair with Athens, her grandma would blast Laurence.
"It's the same bro. Your house is mine. Your neighbour is mine too," said Troy. Laurence rolled his eyes.
"Stop right there. Nothing else is yours," he told a grinning Troy. Athena took the keys and ran out through the back door much to Troy's disappointment and Laurence laughed heartily at him. Later Athena's grandma left and they had an early dinner. Troy left and Sandra woke up a sleepy Lauren and fed her. Then she again out her to bed. Laurence went to his bedroom to his Aria. They would get to sleep with each other at last since Arianna was healing nicely.
He climbed onto the bed and kissed his wife. They chatted about how much they had missed one another for the last few years. Then they fell asleep blissfully happy with one another.
