Chapter Thirteen
"Yes Max, please get up. You need to lie on the bed," she coaxed, gently, trying to pick him up.
He simply stared at her. She couldn't budge him even an inch. "Are you a dream?" He slurred. She kissed his lips, biting them a bit
"Does that feel like a dream?" She asked, as she tried to drag him up and lay him down on the bed.
Max kept staring, "You're real? You've come back to me?" He slurred as he got up and staggered towards the bed. He lay down and closed his eyes.
"Don't leave me ever again, Carol. I love you, " he said as his breathing relaxed into a steady rhythm and he dozed off to sleep.
Carol opened his shoes, loosened his tie and opened the top few buttons of his shirt. She unbuckled his belt with difficulty and opened that too. She emptied his pockets and kept his stuff on the nightstand. A photograph fell from his wallet and she picked it up. It was a photograph of a couple who she thought might be his parents. She kept it back in his wallet.
Carol, showered and changed into her chemise and lay down beside Max to sleep. She felt very guilty for worrying him so much. He might have thought that she had left him and gone back to Huntsville with her friends. She should have been more responsible. She wondered why Max was so vulnerable. She wanted to know him, everything about him.
Carol couldn't sleep as she felt close to tears. No one had loved her so much after her parents death. She was lucky to have such true love from such a wonderful person. Tomorrow she would make it up to him. Show him that she cared too much for him to ever leave him. Carol went off to sleep dreaming about Max.
The sun was streaming through the curtains and she felt a soft caress down her cheek, to her neck and down to her breasts. Opening her eyes, she looked into Max's dark desire filled eyes as he hungrily stared down at her. He might have just taken a shower, as his damp bare body was glistening with water droplets dripping from his hair. A towel was clad around his lower body as he hovered over her.
His hand caressed her as his eyes took her in, "Good morning, Max, " she said but he simply lowered his head and captured her lips in a hungry kiss.
His tongue parted her mouth and slipped in to taste her thoroughly. His other hand pulled the chemise away, tearing it in the process. His hand took off her lace panties and threw it somewhere.
A slow throbbing started in the wetness of her core as his hand touched her there. His mouth trailed down to her neck, leaving love bites in its wake. He sucked her breasts, kneading them while his fingers kept thrusting in and out of her wet dripping heat. His mouth licked a trail down her abdomen and kissed her core, sucking her soft folds, thrusting his tongue in. She fisted onto the sheets as he felt her release.
Max licked her clean and got up. With one hand he yanked open his towel leaving his sculpted body for her eyes to feast upon. Carol couldn't look away. He had a huge erection standing proud as he came onto her. "I want to make you mine, Carol, please," he asked in between short breaths.
"Yes, please," she mumbled and he thrust inside her completely as she hissed in pain. Max stilled till the pain subsided and then made her completely his.
They made love till he was completely satisfied. It was the best moment of his life. He bathed Carol and brought her breakfast in bed. She felt like a queen, Max's queen. He cherished her, loved her so much that she could feel his soul connecting with hers.
Afterwards they lay in each other's arms, just closing their eyes and feeling each other's presence.
"Why did you leave me, baby?" He asked in a husky voice.
"I didn't leave you, Max. I went out with my friends to the shopping mall," she informed him and he looked at her incredulously.
"You didn't inform me. I thought you had left me," he said in confusion.
"Yeah, we were so busy catching up that I forgot to call you," she said.
"Your phone was switched off, I tried calling so many times," he complained.
"Yeah I forgot to charge it, so it switched off," she said.
"Your luggage and clothes were also missing, " he said.
"Oh, I shifted them to the next room. River and Sera wanted to see my dresses and then shortlist what I didn't possess. We went shopping to buy those," she said with a smile.
Max looked relieved, "Oh, I was too devastated. I thought you had left, " he just said, pulling her close and kissing her.
"I'll never leave you, Max. I'd miss you too much. So, you're tied to me for life," she comforted him and he grinned.
"I want to be tied to you for life, " he said, pulling her close.
"Ohno, you'll be late for work, " she said looking at the clock.
"I'm not going. I'll stay in bed with you. I want to make love to you all day and all night," he said, nibbling her earlobes, his hand going between her legs and thrusting a finger inside her.
"Max please," she said, closing her eyes at the heavenly feel of his fingers inside her.
He made love to her again and again. He couldn't believe that he was so lucky. She was his, only his.
"Go on a date with me, wifey?" He asked her.
"Yes hubby, when are we going?" She breathed as they lay in each other's arms.
"Can you walk?" He asked in concern.
"Yes," she said shyly.
"Good, we'll go out for dinner," he promised.
The whole day they enjoyed the feel of being with each other, they bonded together, they talked about their favourite things in the world.
In the evening, she wore a red dress at his insistence. He took her to a cosy restaurant a few blocks away. It was Max's favourite restaurant in the whole world. It wasn't expensive but the food was heavenly and the ambience was very very romantic. He was on first name basis with the owners and they treated him like family.
"Oh Maxie, when did you get married?" Asked a woman in her fifties with lots of laughter crinkles on her face.
"It happened too fast Maggie, we didn't get to call you. We'll compensate for that with dinner at my house. Will that do?" Said Max.
"Sure honey. Now move over and let me meet your lovely wife," she said coming towards Carol.
"Maggie, this is Carol. Carol this is the owner of this restaurant, Margaret Beale," he introduced, with a wide smile. The truth was that he loved Margaret as she shared the same name as his mom. She gave him the love that he didn't get from his mom.
Her husband approached them with a pleasant smile on his face. "George, look Maxie has married this girl, Carol," Maggie gushed. "This is my husband, George," she introduced, looking at Carol.
The restaurant was full so Maggie took them to her home above the restaurant while George managed the customers. They chatted over the food. Carol came to know so much about Max.
The food was delicious, the best she had ever tasted. It reminded her of her mom. They came home late, happy and carefree.
"You're very close to Maggie?" Asked Carol.
"Yeah, she's just like my mom. I never met my mom but Maggie shares her name Margaret. I love her," he said and she simply stared at him.
"You've never met your mom," she asked in concern.
"No, she left after giving birth to me," he confessed. Carol stared at him dumbfounded.
