Chapter Eleven
Julianna waited at the bus stop the next morning for Vincent. She really wanted to learn cooking and there was nothing wrong in enrolling together.
After five minutes, Vincent's silver Mercedes pulled up and she hopped in happily.
"There's a good cooking school midway to my office. We could enrol there. They teach from scratch. What do you say?" He asked, glancing at her.
"Yeah, ok," she agreed.
They drove to the building where the classes would be held. Vincent paid the admission fee and they were escorted towards the back to a huge classroom.
"Wait here. Chef Simon Gilbert will be here with you shortly. He would start the class in ten minutes," said the receptionist, before disappearing.
The huge class had many individual counters along with a big counter at the front with cooking arrangements for the instructor.
"Are you really interested in cooking?" Asked Julianna suspiciously.
Vincent grinned and scratched his scruff. "Who wants to cook when all I want to do is eat you," he whispered in her ear, biting her earlobe.
Julianna blushed and pushed him away. "You better learn well mister. Breakfast will be your department as I will be busy with the kids," she said, with a wink.
"Oh is it? And the nights?" He asked, giving her a peck on the neck.
She rolled her eyes and moved away. Some students came inside the class and took their respective places. The class started filling up. Soon, chef Simon Gilbert came into the class and introduced himself. The first ten minutes everyone was allowed to introduce themselves. They learnt simple fireless cooking ways in the first class. Then they were given a tour of various kitchen appliances and how to operate them.
The class was over and they all dispersed. "I loved the class, and you?" Asked Julianna.
"I loved being with you," said Vincent. He escorted her to his car and they drove off. Julianna saw that they weren't going home.
"Where are we going?" She asked in panic.
"We're going on a date," he said with a wink.
"Shame on you. You're an engaged man going on a date with your fiancée's sister?" She teased. She had given up thinking constantly about Sienna. Sienna didn't care about Vincent and didn't wish to marry him. Vincent wouldn't marry her, so why should she sacrifice her love? She couldn't fight the love she felt for him anymore.
"What can I do? My fiancée's sister loves me and I'm addicted to her," he said with a grin. "On a serious note, I'll try to convince my parents to consider you instead of Sienna. It's the same thing. I don't understand why they're so adamant that I marry only Sienna," he sighed.
"But Sienna doesn't care about you, Vincent. She doesn't want to marry you, I think," she told him.
" I know but my parents don't seem to understand. As if they'd be marrying her instead of me," said Vincent, rolling his eyes. "Sienna likes my best friend at university, Bronson Summers. They're crazy about one another."
"Oh, that's news. Then why doesn't she break off the wedding?" Asked Julianna.
"Because of my parents. Dad has threatened to pull out his investments from your dad's firm if Sienna cancelled the wedding, " said Vincent with a sigh.
"Then there's no other way than convincing your parents, " she said and he shook his head.
"No there's one last way, I'll abduct you and we'll get married," he said. Julianna sighed heavily. She didn't want to do that. Her dad would never forgive her.
They went to an upscale restaurant for lunch. She told him about her friends, Carol, River and Sera. Last night she had a talk with River. Carol was still with her husband at some unknown destination. She messaged that she was blissfully happy, whatever that meant.
Sera was involved in a whirlwind romance with Zachary Reynor. She and River were still at Las Vegas.
After an enjoyable time, Vincent dropped her at her bus stop and went home. He was on a mission. He couldn't marry Sienna and waste four lives.
He reached home to see the house being cleaned and decorated. His mom was surprisingly at home overlooking the decorations.
She smiled widely upon seeing him, "Sweetie, you've come? I'm hosting a small dinner party with Sienna and my best friends from the Inner Circle."
"Why mom? What's the need for all this?" He said unhappily.
"What's the need? I want the world to meet my one and only daughter in law," she gushed.
Vincent rolled his eyes. His dad looked up from his laptop. "Where were you since morning, Vin?" He asked.
"Today's my day off dad," he said irritatedly. They tried to dictate his life at every chance they got.
"Did you go to meet Sienna?" Asked his dad.
"No why should I?" Vincent asked irritatedly.
"She's your fiancée, that's why," said his mom.
"I don't love her, you both know it. She too doesn't love me. She's least bothered about me. She doesn't even talk to me. Why have you both forced us in this? I love Julianna and she loves me. Why can't I marry Julianna?" He yelled in frustration.
"Julianna is a nice girl. Very down to earth and innocent, " said his dad.
Vincent looked at him with hope but his mom scowled and said solemnly,"Don't you dare change your mind, Leroy. My friends and all members of the Inner Circle have approved of Sienna. I don't want any other girl to be my daughter in law."
Vincent looked at her in disbelief. "Are they the ones to get married? It's my life you're talking about. Who cares whether some billionaire club likes my wife or not?" he yelled.
"I care. You marry Sienna or else the company goes to Steve," said his mom.
"You know what? I will elope with Julianna one day and never return home. You're welcome to give everything to Steve. Remember that you will loose me forever," he threatened and went up to his room.
He was tired of these arguments everyday. He didn't care about his mother's club members approval. He knew he could convince his dad. In fact from what his dad said, Vincent could understand that his dad liked Julianna. Why couldn't he put his foot down and put some sense in his wife's head?
Vincent sighed deeply and tried to mentally prepare himself for the dinner party.
