Chapter Ten
Leroy Martin left after an hour. Julianna completed her work, shut down her computer and went out of the office. She walked to the bus stop tired and exhausted when a silver Mercedes came to a stop in front of her.
Vincent got down and came towards her,"I'll drop you, Anna," he said, staring at her with hope.
"No, I'll take a bus," she said. She didn't want to be caught with her sister's fiancé.
"I won't move out of your way. You have to let me drop you," said Vincent, blocking her way. Some of the employees of the office came out and stared at them with their mouths hanging open.
"Vincent, everyone's watching us. Let me go, please," she pleaded.
"I don't care. Let me drop you," he insisted.
"Ok, let's go," she agreed, giving up. She didn't want to be the talk of the office on Monday.
He led her to his car and helped her to the passenger seat. Then going around with a grin on his face, he opened the door and climbed in. Starting the car, he drove towards her home.
"I didn't see you the whole day, today. I heard that dad met you," he asked.
"Yeah, he liked my work. He also wanted to taste my cooking when I learned how to," she said shyly.
"You're learning to cook?" He asked in amazement.
"Yes my grandpa taught Sienna. I was too young to learn. He died after two years. Mom couldn't cook. I had no one to teach me. Then I was sent away to boarding school where we weren't taught cooking. Then my college dorm also didn't allow cooking. Now, I'm overloaded with college and office work. But I will attend cooking classes after getting my first salary, " she said with a small smile.
"Why didn't Sienna teach you?" He asked, perplexed.
"She doesn't talk to me properly. She's always pissed off at me since the day I was born," Julianna said in a sad voice. If only she could figure out what she did wrong since the day she was born.
Vincent's face fell. Sienna couldn't be so mean. Could she?
"Why wait for your salary? I will pick you up and enrol us in a cooking school tomorrow," he stated as Julianna stared at him with her mouth hanging open.
"You want to learn cooking with me?" She asked incredulously.
"Why not? We would cook together after we're married. Our kids could taste our dishes," he said, with a grin and a wiggle of his eyebrows.
"Our marriage? You're marrying Sienna, remember?" She reminded him, rolling her eyes.
"No, I will put up an act with her. Else my parents will pass on the company's reins to my cousin Steve. But I will elope with you if I can't convince my parents," he swore and Julianna simply stared at him dumbly.
"I can't elope with you. My dad will kill me," she said.
"I won't give you a choice, darling. I'll abduct you suddenly," he said, solemnly staring at her.
Her eyes went round with shock. He'd abduct her?
Vincent parked the car suddenly. Julianna looked around her. Was he abducting her now? It was a narrow deserted road.
"I'm not abducting you now," he chuckled. Then looked at her with dark, intense eyes. "I just want a kiss, Anna."
"I need to reach home Vincent," she said, shyly. She too wanted him to kiss her like he did the other day at his office but she couldn't say it aloud like him.
"You will only if you kiss me. I don't mind waiting the whole night here, in the car," he said with a smirk.
Julianna stared at him. What was wrong with him? He had become reckless and stubborn overnight. Vincent couldn't wait any longer. He only thought of kissing her every single second. He couldn't get any work done. He had to get a taste of her again.
He picked her up and placed her on his lap straddling him. Julianna gasped as their nearness. His hands pulled her hips close to his body and she could feel his bulge against her softness. Her skirt rode up completely exposing her legs and panties.
She blushed when his rough hand touched her creamy thigh. His other hand clamped into her neck as he claimed her lips, branding her, plunging deeper into her mouth. The kiss went on forever. His hot mouth explored hers minutely, leaving her aroused and hot. His hand stroked her thighs, going to the inner softest part of her thigh and lingering there.
Her phone buzzed and she broke the kiss. Checking her phone, she saw that her dad was calling her. "Dad's calling Vincent. I need to go home," she said, climbing down from his lap and adjusting her clothes and hair.
"Ok, but wait for me at your bus stop at 10 in the morning, tomorrow. I'll pick you up. We'll go and enrol ourselves in a cooking school," he said and Julianna nodded.
He dropped her at the bus stop near her house and she walked home. Her eyes popped out when she saw a brand new white Camaro sitting in their garage. Whose car was it? Who came to their house?
She opened the door and went inside. They were all sitting at the table for dinner. She freshened up and came down in five minutes.
"Dad whose car is that?" She asked curiously.
"It's yours," said her dad with a small smile.
"Mine? There must be a mistake. I didn't buy a car," Julianna said confusedly.
"Leroy Martin called me saying that the company's giving it to you. Every month they'd deduct a little to pay for the cost of the car," said her dad, proudly.
Julianna's jaws dropped. "Why put up a show? You must have whined and cried for it. You might have bickered and complained about me too. You got what you wanted," Sienna said, muttering to herself.
"On the contrary, I convinced uncle Martin that I didn't need a car. Also the world doesn't revolve around you Sienna. I goto office to work and not bicker. I'm treated just like any other employee there," said Julianna.
"Why are you always after the poor girl?" Asked her mom, looking at Sienna with disapproval.
"There they go again to support their favourite daughter," said Sienna rolling her eyes.
"I'm no one's favourite. If anyone is, you are. I'm the one who'd been sent away for four years to rot in a boarding school. I'm the one who needs to study as well as work. I'm the one who needs to support herself. I'm the one who had to give up the love of her life to someone else. I don't hold a grudge for all this, Sienna. You've been treating me like shit everyday. I can't cook because I didn't have anyone to teach me. But still I love mom, dad, Jake as well as you," said Julianna. She was tired of all the bickering everyday.
She wasn't hungry anymore. She simply went upstairs to her room and curled up to sleep.
