Chapter 1 - Mesmerized By Azura

Adrian’s POV

“I want another cup of your coffee after two hours. No sugar, I’ve got a headache, it will help me focus. Got it now?” I told her slowly as she blushed at our nearness and looked down. I noticed how beautiful she was from so close. Her thick eyelashes touched her cheekbones, but I wanted her to look up into my eyes, desperate to drown in their depths.

“You will bring me my coffee, clear?” I said, eager to ensure that I would see her again after two hours.

“Yeah,” she said, finally looking up at me. I was too lost in her eyes to think about anything else.

“Sir, can I leave?” she mumbled as realization struck me and I wanted to bang my head somewhere at the way I was reacting to her. I knew I had just met the girl, but I seemed to have lost my head over her. I went back to my chair, feeling a little embarrassed at my horny state.

“Yes,” I said as I looked at my laptop.

Azura turned around and walked out, but I couldn’t help staring at her retreating figure. The way the skirt hugged her shapely hips, her small waist, her smooth, never-ending legs waiting for my caress. Oh God, what am I thinking? I tried to focus on work, but it seemed all my mind could think about was when the two hours would be over and Azura would come back with my coffee.

Only, she did not come back with my coffee after two hours but sent Liam instead with it. I was furious and paced my office angrily. After instructing her specifically to bring me my coffee, how could she ignore my orders? The moment Liam came in with my coffee, I saw red and stopped to glare at him.

“Thanks. I don’t need it anymore. You can have it?” I said impatiently, making him gape at me with surprise. I strode out of my office in search of the hotel’s coffee shop.

Upon entering the coffee shop, my eyes searched for Azura everywhere. When I couldn’t find her, I went to the kitchen at the back for the first time in my life. There was silence as I entered, everyone stopping their work and staring at me. My heart skipped a beat when I looked around and saw Azura in a corner, with her back towards me, busy making coffee. I went to her in two strides.

“Why didn’t you bring me my coffee?” I demanded, and she looked up at me in surprise. There was pin-drop silence in the room, as everyone just stood at attention and stared at us. I looked around and gestured with my hands.

“Get back to work, all of you,” I growled, and everyone disappeared out of fear.

The manager of the shop came rushing forward, clasping his hands out of fear.

“Is there anything you needed, sir?” he asked me with a pale face.

“Yes, coffee. Make sure that Azura makes it and brings it up to my office now. I have a meeting in thirty minutes,” I instructed him and left the cafe without a backward glance.

In ten minutes, Azura came in with my coffee and my mood lightened upon seeing her. “Keep it on that table,” I instructed her, gesturing towards the center table before the sofa in my office. I got up and went towards the sofa.

“Sit,” I said to Azura, pointing beside me, but her eyes widened in surprise.

“I’ll leave you to enjoy your coffee sir,” she said instead, turning to leave. I was surprised since other girls would have grabbed the opportunity to spend time with me.

“It’s an order. Sit down,” I insisted, and she sat down meekly at the far end of the sofa, placing as much distance as possible between us. I measured the distance mentally. It was one and a half feet. I mentally swore that soon I would reduce that to one and a half inches!

Her skirt hitched as she sat, and I couldn’t help but glance at her creamy, exposed thighs. With pink flushed cheeks, she quickly tried to cover her legs, but I had already seen what I needed to and they were etched in my mind forever. I knew they would torment me at night, robbing me of my sleep. Since when did I become so horny? I sipped my coffee, staring at her while she looked down, fidgeting with her hands.

“How old are you?” I asked.

“Isn’t that an impolite thing to ask a girl?” she pointed out instead, surprising me totally. I tried to curb a smile that was struggling to break free.

“Not at all. I asked because you look underage and as an employer, I have the right to know,” I came up with the lamest of replies, making her gape at me.

“Excuse me? I’m eighteen, an adult,” she said proudly, making my smile widen. I was right, after all!

“Right. You’re an adult. So when do you go to college?” I asked busy asking lame questions when my heart really wanted to know whether she had a boyfriend or was single and ready to mingle with me.

“I’m studying online,” she answered as I nodded. “I’m doing an undergraduate program in Culinary Arts and received a 75% scholarship for the course,” she told me as her eyes shone with excitement.

I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. “That’s wonderful. You’re very good at it, actually. I know since I’ve tasted your stuff,” I confessed as she blushed.

“Thank you, sir,” she said as she looked everywhere else but me. I could say that she wasn’t used to being praised and was embarrassed at the attention.

“I have a meeting in 15 minutes. Bring me coffee after the meeting, clear? I’ll ask Liam to call you,” I told her.

“Yes, sir,” she said with lowered eyes.

“Adrian,” I corrected her as she turned to look into my eyes. I was drowned in their blue depths.

“What, sir?” she asked.

“Call me Adrian. That’s my name,” I told her as she nodded.

“I-I can’t. You’re my employer, sir,” she stammered.

I wanted to see her mouth pronounce my name. I wanted her to call me. “I insist, else I will fire you,” I threatened to scare her.

“Please sir, I can’t,” she said.

“As you wish,” I said, frustrated with her stubbornness. I stormed towards my desk and Azura tried to escape my office and, as luck would have it, we collided. It seemed like the chance I had been waiting for and I grabbed her waist to steady her, gazing into her azure blue eyes.

“I need to go, sir. Don’t you have a meeting coming up?” she said, as she tried to extricate her hand from my grip. My blood boiled hearing her call address me formally, and I felt a desperate need to hear her call me by my name.

“They can wait, say my name,” I insisted, knowing I was behaving weirdly, but I didn’t care.

“Adrian, please,” she whispered, and I left her wrist and stood staring at her heatedly. I wanted to kiss her and taste the sweet mouth that whispered my name, making it sound like a sweet melody. She picked up the coffee cup, and blushing furiously, rushed out.

My heartbeats thundered inside my chest. I wanted to be with her again. I wanted to sit beside her, talk to her, hold her soft hand in mine, and smell her intoxicating scent of roses and vanilla. Maybe she’s the one for me? I had never felt this way with any girl before.
