Chapter Twenty-Nine

"She said no, didn't she? She has asked you to f*ck off. Didn't you get it into that thick skull of yours?" Gritted out Ryan angrily.

"Who the f*ck are you? How dare you come between us?" Yelled Wyatt, impatiently.

"You don't need to know who I am. Just f*ck off," said Ryan, pushing Wyatt. Wyatt stumbled backwards but it didn't deter him. He too pushed Ryan back.

"Stay out of this, a*sh*le," he gritted out at Ryan.

"Stop this Wyatt. I'm not interested in being your friend. Please stop this madness else I'll be forced to complain against you, " warned Georgia. Wyatt looked hurt.

"I'm going now but I'll be back soon. I'm not giving up. I'll make you my girlfriend again," he threatened as he strode towards his car. After he drove away Georgia went inside her house followed by Ryan. He turned to look at her, anger flashing in his eyes.

"You both were together? He was your boyfriend?" Gritted out Ryan with barely suppressed anger emanating from his whole body. He felt hurt and angry that while he was in love with her and unable to move on, she already had moved on with Wyatt.

"Not the way you think, Ryan," she started but Ryan wasn't listening to her at all. He caught her and pulled her towards him, crushing her to his body.

"Then in what way Georgia? While I was going crazy for you here how could you enjoy with that son of a b*tch?" he spoke angrily like a maniac. Georgia gaped at him with surprise. What was there to be so angry about? But he didn't give her any opportunity to speak.

"Did he kiss you better than I did? Or have you forgotten how we kissed? Let me remind you then, Georgia," he said, fisting his fingers into her hair to grip her head well. His mouth crashed to hers and Georgia felt the stars swoon in her head. His warm mouth played with her lips, his hot tongue tasting her mouth with abandon. It proved it's way into her mouth passionately branding her as his. It was as if the kiss spoke louder than words could. It said how it owned her. His hand crushed her to himself as if wa rung to punish her while his tongue tasted every corner of her mouth.

"Kiss me," he coaxed, as he sucked her bottom lip hungrily, locking, biting, driving her insane. Georgia's heart was beating wildly as the same need crawled all over her making her feel intoxicated, mesmerized by his touch.

"Ryan," she breathed out his name as his lips became hard, challenging and coaxed an equally passionate response  out of her. His hand molded her body to his, going to her hips and crushing her against him as a moan of pure need escaped her mouth. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she fisted with his soft silky hair, surrendering to the kiss. The world spun around them as they completely got lost in the amazing kiss more intense than the ones they had shared five years back. It proved to both of them the only truth, the hard reality that nothing had changed between them.

"I know that I should leave you alone, Georgia but I can't," said Ryan at last when his mouth left hers. They both were breathing hard, panting for breath. "You're all I ever think about," whispered Ryan, with his eyes hooked onto hers. Georgia was hypnotized by his gaze which held so much feeling to it.

"How did you know that Wyatt was disturbing me?" She softly asked him. Ryan released her looking a little uncomfortable. When he didn't answer her, she noticed the faint color on his cheeks. Was he blushing? He really looked so adorable!

"Umm, I actually was just outside your house, " he admitted, scratching his chin. She looked a little surprised.

"Oh maybe you came over to the marketplace, " she concluded.

"No, I just came to see you," he shrugged. "You didn't answer me about you and Wyatt. Is he really your boyfriend?" Asked Ryan, looking a little hurt.

Georgia sat down at a sofa nearby. "No, he's nothing to me. It's s a long story. Wyatt forced me to be his girlfriend five years back but it was only for a day," she told him. Ryan came and sat down beside her, looking at her intently. His arm brushed with her back and Georgia's attention immediately was drawn to the tanned, muscular arm which he casually rested behind her back.

"Did he kiss you?" Asked Ryan, curiously.

"Once but it was so sloppy and nauseating that I broke it before it could even start," she said, which made him quirk an eyebrow at her, a slow smile spreading on his lips realizing what she had just told him. His fingers played with her hair which made it difficult for her to concentrate on her story.

"Go on, Georgia. I'm listening, " he whispered into her ear, his hot breath fanning the area, making goosebumps erupt on her bare arms.

"I found out that he was pursuing me as a result of a bet between his friends. There were no feelings involved. He was a notorious guy at college on the lookout for innocent victims whom he could take advantage of. His dad was one of the trustees and he always got away with anything," she said, giving him the details about what she and Gabrielle found out.

"You two shouldn't have gone there alone. It was too dangerous, " said Ryan, watching her as he listened, his fingers still playing with her hair.

"Yeah, we realized that later, " admitted Georgia. "We complained with proof and he and his friends were expelled from the college," she started explaining how uncle Will helped them.

"That was indeed a very commendable job, " he appreciated her and Georgia smiled in response.

"Thanks. So for the last few years we were leading a peaceful life at Laramie where my aunt Dorothy lives, when he returned a few weeks ago," she told him. "He apologized to me and wanted to be friends with me but I turned him down," said Georgia.

"It seemed he didn't get the idea and followed you down to Fordsville. Right?" Asked Ryan, pulling her towards his side. Georgia lay her head on his shoulder.

"Yes," she said, closing her eyes.

"Do you want to be with me like we used to be before, Georgia?" He asked hopefully.

"No, Ryan. I don't want any relationship. I'm fine the way I am. I could be friends with you and that's all I can offer you. I don't want to be hurt a second time," she told him, standing up, her body stiff and uncomfortable. Ryan stood up too. He knew the magic was lost and now she wouldn't be convinced at all.

"I don't want to be just friends with you, Georgia. I want more," he said softly, his eyes staring at her face as if memorizing every detail.

"I'm not ready to commit to anyone, Ryan. Please don't force me. It would make you just the same as Wyatt, " she told him. Ryan's lips pursed and his face fell.

"I'm going away to Las Vegas, forever, Georgia. I've got a job as a Chief Dietician at Glenbrook Nature Sanctuary in Las Vegas," said Ryan looking at her dejectedly.

"Oh," said Georgia, her heart contracting at the thought of not being able to see Ryan again.

"That's all you have to say, Georgia?" He sighed. "I get it. I won't disturb you any more. I don't want to be like Wyatt," he told her, walking towards the door as Georgia stood transfixed to the spot. It wasn't fair. He could have told her before that he was leaving forever. He reached the door and turned to see her, a sad and dejected look in his eyes.

"Goodbye, Georgia. Have a good life. If you ever change your mind, come to Las Vegas. I'll be waiting for you forever,  till the day I die, " he said and with those words, he opened the door and walked out into the dark night, leaving a shocked Georgia behind.

The door clicked shut on her face and she felt tears of repentance prick at her eyes. Why she declined his offer of a relationship with him she had no idea. Was it to get back for the hurt he had caused her? But denying him only hurt her more than him. She felt more heart broken than ever before.

She slumped to the floor and sobbed her heart out. If only she knew that he would go away, she would have accepted whatever it was that he was offering. Now all she had with her was a broken heart and memories. If only she knew! She covered her face and cried her heart out.

She wanted to run after him to stop him but it was too late in the night to go out. She would go to his house the first thing next morning.
