A Hopeless Pursuit (Forbidden Love Series Book 10)

The next day, an anxious yet excited Lisa was whisked away by the girl gang to Serenity's building. They had already packed her dress, makeup, and accessories that she would need to get ready today and shifted it all to Serenity's room. Sofia and Victoria helped her with her beauty bath. The hairdressers had already arrived to do everyone's hair. Liam's mom came up to their room followed by Kathy pushing a food trolley laden with breakfast for all. "Lisa, eat well or else you'll fall sick," said aunt Eugene. Lisa nodded and picked up her plate m helping herself to the delicious breakfast as her hair was being fixed.

Serenity, Arianna, Carmella, and River were busy with their children feeding them as well instructing their nannies to get them ready. Lisa's make up was done too when they arrived one by one. They all were her bridesmaids. Although Lisa had planned only for Sofia, Victoria, and Arianna to be her bridesmaids,  later she had to change her plans when all Liam's family arrived. They all chose to wear pale blue halter neck, backless gowns. Lisa wore a v-neck, a-line tulle long reach wedding dress with spaghetti straps. Lisa wore a pair of floral Swarovski crystal earrings which Liam gave her as a wedding gift. She paired it with a matching bracelet, a gift from Laurence.

"Where's the veil?" Asked Arianna. Lisa looked around and everyone started searching for her veil.

"Oh no, I think I have forgotten it in my room. Someone needs to go and fetch it," said Lisa.

Carmella pushed Sofia, "Go and get it please Sofia. You're the one who's completely ready," she pointed out.

Sofia looked at everyone with dismay. "Where's did you keep it, Lizzy?" She asked Lisa.

"On the top shelf of my walk-in closet," informed Lisa.

"The guys would be getting ready there," said Sofia, dreading the task she was given.

"They should be done by now. If you see Liam, just ask him. He'll hand it to you," said Lisa. Sofia went out to get her veil. She walked into Liam's building. It was exceptionally quiet. Had the boys all left the place after getting dressed up? Well good for her then. She climbed the staircase and reached Lisa's bedroom in a minute. The door wasn't locked thankfully. There wasn't anyone around whom she could ask for the veil. She opened the door and peeped inside.  No one.

She released the breath that she had been holding. Going inside, she went straight to the walk-in closet. Now, where's the veil? She looked at the top shelves and then found the veil still in it's packaged condition. Picking it up, she smiled and then walked out of the walk-in closet but as luck would have it, she collided straight with something damp and hard. It was a man, that too only in a towel, fresh out of the shower! Unable to keep his balance he fell with her onto the bed beside them with her on top of him, flush against his muscular hard bare body, lying between his legs.

"What the fuck!" His husky voice swore, pinning her with his piercing.

Her gaze found his electric blue hypnotic eyes staring back at her as if drilling a hole on to her flushed face. She couldn't look away. His eyes had a strange pull that burnt her. "Are you done staring?" He asked in a husky voice. Sofia came to her senses and felt something hard poking her. When realization struck, she blushed crimson and got up quickly. She couldn't look at him, lying down and watching her with hooded eyes, sporting a massive erection, clearly visible through the thin towel. It was obvious that he was totally naked under it. Sofia looked away blushing furiously.

"I wasn't staring. What are you doing in this room?" She asked suspiciously, keeping her eyes pinned upon only his face. She had never seen the guy here before. Who the hell was he?

"I could ask the same for you," he said gruffly. "Now get lost or do you want to see me get dressed?" He asked impatiently. Sofia's jaws dropped at his rudeness. What the hell did he think he was?

"You know what? You're an asshole," she gritted out, picking up the veil and stomping out without a backward glance. She was red with anger.

Davion Torres, Liam's best friend, slowly got up from the bed after the young girl left. He couldn't believe his body's reaction to her. She was absolutely stunning but didn't know it herself. He groaned trying to calm his arousal. How she was staring at it as if she'd never seen or felt one in her entire life. She couldn't be more than eighteen and she was so soft! Here he was the son of the famous 'Casino King' of Las Vegas, owning casinos all over the country. He couldn't believe that she didn't recognize a celebrity like him whose pictures were flashed almost everywhere. He was the most sought after bachelor in the whole of Las Vegas and that slender soft girl was oblivious to his good looks?

"Hey, Dave! What are you standing and dreamin' of, man? Everyone's ready and waiting. Hurry up best man," said Liam, coming into the room to get his cuff links.

"Yeah,  at it, bro," Dave said, coming to his senses and picking up his clothes and wearing them. "Hey who's the hot one of your wife's age, here?" He tried to ask casually.

"What? There are two. Sofia and Victoria, they're twins. They're Lisa's friends, " informed Liam with a wink. "Hurry if you want to meet them," he added with a grin.

Dave rolled his eyes and shrugged. "Who wants to!" He said, wearing his shirt. The groomsmen were all wearing grayish-blue tuxedos with pale blue dress shirts. Liam's tuxedo was a shade darker than the rest.

Sofia rushed upstairs to Lisa and handed the veil to her. Her whole face and neck were flushed with embarrassment and she was seething inwardly at the guy's insolence.

"Took you long enough, " whispered Victoria. "What happened? You're all red," she pointed out. Sofia snorted with anger.

"Tell you later. I met an insufferable dick," she said rolling her eyes.

"Who?" Mouthed a wide-eyed Victoria. Sofia shrugged and went towards Lisa to help fix her veil. Sandra knocked on the door as she and Laurence had come to escort Lisa to the altar. Lisa had insisted that Sandra too walk her down the aisle along with Laurence. Sandra was overwhelmed with emotions at her request. The moment she saw Lisa, her eyes filled with tears of happiness. She kissed the top of Lisa's head as she clung to her, something that she'd always done since birth.

"May God always bless you, my child. I'm so happy that you finally found the happiness you so deserve," said Sandra, wiping her eyes.

"Thank you, mom," said Lisa, wiping her mom's eyes. "I want you to stop worrying about me now, okay?" She said. Sandra nodded with a smile. Laurence smiled indulgently at them.

"Hey little sis, you look so grown up today," he said looking at her appreciatively. "Come on its time. Let's get you to the altar else Liam would come looking for you anytime now," said Laurence with a laugh. Everyone else giggled too. The bridal party trooped out of the building, giggling and walking towards the altar. Sofia handed Lisa her bridal bouquet made of white roses and lavender and purple peonies with eucalyptus and ferns.

A beautiful floral wedding arch was constructed in front of the grand fountainhead spurting crystal clear shimmering water into the stone pool. The white roses, purple hydrangeas, and vibrant lavender and purple peonies used for the arch created a beautiful contrast against the flowing billowy drapes tied with cascading ivy. Crystal vases with white roses alternating with purple peonies were placed all along the aisle. White rose petals were strewn along the paved aisle. White draped chairs tied with lavender satin bows were kept for the guests. The whole family was waiting for Lisa. The moment she arrived, they all took their position. The wedding ceremony was about to begin. The music started and the marriage officiant, Liam's parents, Liam followed by Dave proceeded towards the altar. After the flower girls and the ring bearers, it was Arianna's turn to walk down as her matron of honor. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen followed and it was finally Lisa's turn to walk down.

Sandra squeezed her hand to give her support. Laurence nodded at her and she took a deep breath and nodded back at him. He stretched his arm for her to take. Placing her hand into the crook of his arm, with her mom on the other side of her, she was ready to walk down to her smiling and dashing groom, the love of her life, the most awesome guy on earth, the father of her child.
