Chapter Thirty-One

Jaxon grinned, "No you don't, " he said impatiently. He couldn't understand this new feeling that was driving him crazy. This new feeling to be inside her, to make love,  to have her in his arms all the time. Gone was the angry, controlled, domineering, and dangerous Jaxon Craddock whom all women feared because he hated them. Carmella changed all that with her true love and faithfulness. He didn't harbor any hatred towards women anymore. He was learning to trust more and these new positive changes in him were enough to keep him in a perpetually happy mood.

He excitedly stripped and climbed onto the bed to try the two new styles with her. "What are you doing? Will it hurt? I don't like anything from the back please, " she said hesitantly.

"No we'll try the spider pose first, I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot," he said with his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Eww, why is it called the spider pose? Do spiders have sex that way?" Asked Carmella.

Jaxon grinned as he sat down on the bed with his legs towards her and arms at the back to support himself. "Have you been watching spiders? So creepy," she shuddered as he guided her to move towards him as he slipped into her.

"Shut up and enjoy," he said rocking back and forth. She closed her eyes at the amazing feeling. Climaxing together, she sat within the sanctity of his arms.

"How was it?" He asked eagerly as she caught her breath.

"Mmm," she said closing her eyes. He smiled indulgently.

"You're that sated, huh? There's another one I want to try with you, " he whispered and she opened her eyes to stare at him in disbelief.

"No please, I like the normal way," she said.

"Normal is boring, variety brings pleasure, " he coaxed.

"Okay mister, you win. So which one next? Froggy style or doggy style?" She asked with a grin.

So their lovemaking continued till they were really exhausted of all the animal poses and after a normal style,  they went off to sleep.

The next day Jaxon took her out on a date. He took her to The Venetian for a romantic gondola ride. They floated beneath the bridges, besides the cafes, under the balconies, all the while coasting down the Grand Canal.  With the singing gondolier piloting the gondola it was a dream date for Carmella. Although she had tried these rides with River and her mom when she was younger yet riding with the love of her life gave to it a new meaning altogether.

"I  had come to Vegas so many times, yet I can't believe that I've never done this before, " admitted Jaxon.

"Without me, you were this angry scowling man who only worked and growled. I taught you to enjoy yourself," she said with a glowing smile.

"Okay, but I taught you how to enjoy,  you know what I mean," he said wiggling his eyebrows at her.   She rolled her eyes.

"No, that isn't the only form of enjoyment, " she told him.

"Okay,  but it is the main form of enjoyment," he said, kissing her.

"Mmm, stop. The gondolier has stopped singing and he's looking at us," said Carmella.

They went to the outdoor Italian patio restaurant of The Venetian to have dinner. The outdoor terrace with its ultra-chic atmosphere provided unmatched views of the Las Vegas Strip. Ordering authentic dishes of southern Italy, they enjoyed the party-like atmosphere along with the romantic lighting. Their food arrived and they discovered a lot about each other while enjoying their meal. It was the best date of her life.

The next few days, Jaxon took her out every day to discover new places and experience new sights and sounds of what Vegas had to offer. In the evenings they designed Carmella's website. In four days it was ready and Carmella was extremely excited about it. It was an eCommerce site that would sell her designs initially. She created various social media pages to showcase her growing designs too.

River and Tyler had returned from their tour and she went to meet her at her old apartment while Jaxon went to his Las Vegas office.

Carmella wore a white sundress and went up to her apartment and rang the doorbell. A very displeased Tyler opened the door and gaped at Carmella. "Couldn't you come at a better time?" He grunted and Carmella giggled, going into her old apartment.

"You had it renovated?" She asked looking around with wonder.

"Carmel?" A sudden gasp caught Carmella's attention. Carmella turned and looked at her childhood best friend,  River. Her face broke out into a happy grin.

"Riv," she squealed and went rushing towards her. "How have you been? You've grown up into a bombshell. No wonder my brother's so whipped with you," she said eyeing her brother. They hugged each other tightly having missed one another for so many years.

Tyler grumbled at his sister and walked off towards the main door, " I'll see you later, River, " he said and walked out before River could ask him to stay for dinner.

"I'm very upset with you, Riv.  Why did you break off all ties with me?" Carmella asked her, glancing towards her for answers.

"I-I actually," River started, not knowing what to tell her.

"You love Tyler,  don't you?" She asked her and River stared at her with shock. Did she know? How?

"But how do you know?" She asked Carmella. They sat down on the sofa in the living room.

"Tyler was heartbroken when you left Vegas with your parents. He was inconsolable and mom had to intervene, he was so bad. In fact, mom, dad, we all know," Carmella informed her and she simply stared at her. Tyler had feelings for her?

"He soon got over me and got married to Meredith, didn't he?" River asked, unhappily. Meredith was the bitch that Tyler was married to and then divorced. No one liked her anyway.

"No, he never got over you. He hated Meredith but she trapped him into marrying her. They never had anything between them," Carmella informed River and she gaped at her. This was news to her.

"But I saw their chemistry that evening at dinner," she said, blankly referring to the night when she had come over on a short trip to Vegas two years back. Carmella's family had invited her over to dinner and she had met Tyler's ex-wife Meredith then.

"You saw her clawing Tyler. She always acted that way in front of my parents. Mom and dad hated her," informed Carmella.

They chatted a lot more. She informed River about her upcoming wedding and invited her to be her maid of honor.  She told River all about Jaxon as they caught up with one another's lives.

"How did you know I was staying here? Did Tyler tell you?" She asked Carmella.

"No, this was my apartment. Tyler wanted it and had it freshly painted and renovated with new furniture for you within a matter of 2 days. I moved in with my fiancé, " she said and River again gaped.

"I'm sorry, he's really impossible," she said, feeling terrible for what Tyler had done.

"It's ok. I would have moved out anyway. Tyler can't help himself, he loves you," she said, and River looked at her in disbelief.

"He does?" She asked, with rounded eyes.

Carmella nodded and River squealed with delight, doing a happy dance. They ordered pizza for dinner and chatted and made plans for the wedding. Carmella left after some time and went back home.

Jaxon hadn't arrived yet and she waited for him to return, curling up with a book to read in the living room. A soft caress woke her up. She opened her eyes to see Jaxon leaning down over her. "You came home now?" Asked Carmella looking at the wall clock. It was 11 o'clock in the night.

"Yes darling, Gilbert had come over to office today. He needed my signature on some documents. We had dinner and he just left. Did you enjoy with River?" Asked Jaxon.

"Yes, very much. Gilbert didn't meet me," she pouted.

"He'll come five days early with Jacqueline to attend our wedding. You can meet him then. He was a bit busy. I'm feeling guilty for dumping all the work on his shoulders but since the day we started this business, I hadn't taken a single day off except when I was too sick," he informed her, going towards their bedroom to change.

"Then you deserve it Jaxon. We all need to work but we need to take a break and rejuvenate ourselves too. It makes us refreshed and we can handle our work better then," she explained, following him into the bedroom.

"You're right. Go and have a glass of warm milk. You need to take care of your health, first, " said Jaxon,  heading for a shower.

Carmella did as he asked her to. She needed to get super healthy so that she could be strong enough to give birth to a healthy baby soon.
