Chapter Eleven

Allen drove like a madman to the hospital. His heart was breaking at the thought of Axel being injured and lying in the hospital. Why did he let him go? And Jon? His brother who always stood like a rock beside him since the day Allen was born? What would he do if anything happened to him? No, he wouldn't break down.

He drove to the Sacred Heart Emergency Hospital and looked for a parking space. It took him fifteen minutes to get a place to park his car in the packed parking lot. At last, parking his car, he rushed to the reception.

"Excuse me, my brother Jon McAllister and my son Axel McAllister had been admitted here in the emergency unit. It's an accident case. Please can you give me their details," he asked, breathing hard.

"Give me a second please," the receptionist said as she checked on her computer.

"Sorry sir, no one with those names had been admitted here," she informed him. him.

"There has been a mistake. Any accident case in the last four hours? Give me their details please, " Allen asked in panic.

"Only one woman by the name of Jaclyn Stone had been admitted as an accident case due to drunken driving. She is undergoing treatment, " said the receptionist, with an apologetic look.

Allen stared at her in confusion. If not this hospital then where were they admitted? He thought of calling Joanne and finding out.

"Ok, thanks, " he said and turning away, walked to the parking lot. He called Joanne and she picked up after five rings," Allen why are you calling us? Shouldn't you be enjoying with your wife?" She said, chuckling.

"Joanne, is everything alright? Where's Jon and Axel?" He asked in confusion.

"Jon is packing the camping gear with the boys. Why Allen? Is something wrong?" She asked starting to get alert.

"Oh my God. I got a call from an anonymous number that Jon and Axel had an accident and they were admitted to Sacred Heart Emergency Hospital.  I went there and found no one. So, I thought of, oh my God.  Hazel. She's alone at home. I've gotta go," said Allen, panicking at the thought that the hoax call might be to remove him from the house.

"We're also reaching there," said Joanne as they disconnected the call.

Allen drove home like a maniac. What would he do if anything happened to his precious Hazel. Her innocent face kept creeping on his mind and he lost his head.

Driving through the open gates, he screeched to a halt at the sight of a huge team police officers. He walked ahead, seeing the bodies of his security guards lying all over the compound.

Hazel? Where was she? Jon's car screeched to a halt and everyone rushed towards him. "What happened dad?" Yelled Axel.

Two officers came forward,"I'm officer Richard Walmer and this is officer Tim Loughton from the Houston Police Department. We received a call from one of the neighbours that an abduction and numerous murders had taken place here," said one of the officers. "May I know your identities, please. Are you the owner of this property?"

"Officer, I'm Allen McAllister. I left my wife Hazel McAllister here when I received a call from an anonymous number that my brother and son had an accident and were admitted to Sacred Heart Emergency Hospital. I went there to find that they weren't there. I called my brother's wife and that's when I realised that it was a hoax call," Allen said. "Officer, Where's my wife? I need to see her."

"Your wife has been abducted, Mr McAllister," said the officer. "Your next door neighbour has recorded the entire episode, discreetly. We had been waiting for you. We wish to check the CCTV footage of your house too."

"Hazel can't be abducted. What will I do without her? Why did I leave her?" Allen said as a teardrop fell from his eye and he sat down on the paved path that led to his house.

Axel wept bitterly as he went to hug his dad and pick him up from the ground.

"Dad get up please. We have to check the CCTV footage as soon as possible and save Hazel, " he coaxed his dad.

Jon helped Allen to his feet and they all went inside to check the footage. "This man is Nicholas King, if I'm not mistaken. He's in the Interpol's most wanted list for drug trafficking and illegal arms dealing," said officer Walmer.

"But why did he abduct your wife?" Asked officer Loughton.

Allen explained everything that had been happening to Hazel for the last four years. The officers contacted the Interpol officers and explained the situation.

The entire team collected evidence, fingerprints, tyre marks, CCTV footages from all the cameras installed on the property, the video recording of the neighbour, the bullets used to murder the guards, everything. They also took down Hazel mobile number to track her down. The officers went outside to get the bodies ready and sent them for post mortem. Two officers went to check the CCTV footage at all the junctions through Nicholas's car might have passed. They already had noted down it's number from the camera footages.

They sent all the evidence to the Interpol. Allen broke down completely. After so many years he found the woman he wanted to spend his life with and he couldn't save her. He couldn't protect her. He could have taken her with him. She wanted to go with him. He held himself responsible for her abduction.

"Don't worry dad. We will find her. We have to have faith in these officers," comforted Axel trying to be brave for his dad. Allen pulled him into a hug and they comforted each other.

Jon coordinated with the officers along with Gary. Joanne and her boys sat with Allen and Axel, trying to be brave and think of a way to console them. Everyone was scared.

"We lost the car after Hempstead Road," said Jon, helpless flinging his arms.

"Then? What do we do now?" Asked Joanne.

"They're tracking her mobile phone. It's switched off," said Jon, as he sat with them.

Jon's phone buzzed and he took the call. "Yes officer," he said into the phone, standing up.

"Oh, yes we're ready. Let's go then," he said.

He disconnected the call. "They've tracked her mobile last in Cypress Creek jungles. Allen, let's go and get her," he said as Allen got up and they both turned to go.

"Dad please take me with you, " said Axel as he ran up to them.

"No son. It's too dangerous. You stay at home," he said. Joanne came forward and held Axel's arm, coaxing him to stay back.

They left home with a newfound energy to hunt Hazel down and get her by hook or by crook.
