Chapter Sixteen
Jaden parked the car and climbed out. He then helped Rosalie out of the car and led her towards the main door. The door of the GMC Sierra opened and Mr McAllister came out of the car.
Rosalie's jaws dropped. What was he doing here? He was marrying Jennifer, yet he came to see her? Why? What could he possibly want now?
Jaden opened the door. "Go inside Rosie," he said, and she did as he asked her to do.
He turned to Mr McAllister as he locked his car and came forward, towards him. "Who are you? How long have you been fu*king my fiancée, you son of a bit*h?" he yelled at Jaden.
"Mind your language, McAllister. Who's your fiancée? Rosie is my love. We have loved each other since we were fifteen. You think she would have married you? Never," said Jaden calmly.
"She's mine. I was marrying her. You abducted her against her will. You took advantage of her and got her pregnant. I had honoured her," said Mr McAllister, angrily.
"That's all untrue. She's mine. Her soul is mine. She offered herself to me. She wanted to have my babies. I'm the one who gets to marry her. You were only buying a trophy wife. Did you love her ever? No. You fu*k your mistress every day behind her back," said Jaden, calmy.
A strong gust of wind blew up bringing loose dust and tree leaves and twigs along with it.
"I do like Rosalie. What mistress are you talking about?" He said and then seeing the wind blowing he said,"Can we go inside and talk?"
Jaden nodded and led the way inside. They closed the door and sat in the living room. Stella had gone home and Rosalie was sitting on the sofa and listening to their conversation.
"I'm Jaden Meyers. Rosalie and I know each other and have loved each other for the last ten years," said Jaden.
"Oh, I like Rosalie too. I wanted to marry her. I want to hear it from Rosalie who she likes," said Mr McAllister, turning towards Rosalie.
Jaden looked at Rosalie and she looked back at him. "I love Jaden, Mr McAllister. I never agreed to marry you. My parents forced me to," she said softly.
Mr McAllister's face fell. "Oh, I see. So you never ever liked me?" He asked and she shook her head.
She really never connected to him. "We never connected Mr McAllister. You were always too busy with my stepmom to even talk to me," she said and Mr McAllister just stared at her.
"You both have betrayed me. Rosalie you have betrayed my trust," he said, shaking his head in disapproval.
"So have you Mr McAllister, " said Jaden.
"How so? I've never betrayed anyone, " he said with conviction.
"You were engaged to Rosalie, yet you were busy fu*king your mistress behind her back," said Jaden and Mr McAllister looked offended.
"What utter rubbish are you talking about? I can't stoop so low," yelled Mr McAllister, angrily.
"I have proof," said Jaden calmly.
"Show me what proof you have," said Mr McAllister.
Jaden took out his mobile and showed him the pictures that Stuart clicked of him and Jennifer. Mr McAllister's jaws dropped.
"See, you and your mistress, aka Jennifer, Rosalie's stepmom have been spotted together many times in and out of hotel rooms," said Jaden and Rosalie glared at him.
Mr McAllister was at a loss of words. He simply stared at them to register what they were saying.
Then when he regained his composure, he said in a firm voice, "That's not me. That's my oldest brother Gary with his fiancée Jennifer. That's how I met Jennifer, your stepmom. She was dating my brother. Now that the divorce is through, they would get married soon," said Mr McAllister.
Jaden and Rosalie stared at him with their jaws dropped. "You're not marrying Jennifer?" They chorused.
"Good heavens, no. I've always liked Rosalie and wanted to marry her," he said looking at Rosalie. "I guess she loves you and you both have future plans together," he said with a disappointed look.
"Yeah, we'll plan our wedding before our babies are born," said Jaden and Mr McAllister looked at them with sad eyes.
Congratulations to you too. Maybe I'm not meant to be loved by anyone. God bless you Rosalie. Have a happy life," he said getting up.
"The storm is blowing outside Mr McAllister. Please stay till it subsides," said Rosalie.
"I can't see you with him. I need to leave," he said and went towards the door and walked out into the storm.
Rosalie and Jaden felt bad for Mr McAllister but maybe that was his destiny. You can't force someone to love you. They had dinner and discussed what Mr McAllister said, before going to bed.
Allen McAllister braced the storm and started his truck. This storm was nothing compared to the anguish that was brewing inside him. His wife had left him after giving birth to their son. She didn't love him. She married the love of her life after getting a divorce from him. After so many years he liked someone whom he wanted to marry. She too left him and got pregnant with her boyfriend's baby while still being engaged to him.
He drove on relentlessly through the storm and rain pelting down on his car. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't see someone come in before the truck. He screeched to a halt at the last minute.
He was about to shout when his eyes fell upon an extremely attractive woman in a wedding dress, drenched in the rain, tapping at his car window. He opened the door for her.
He climbed in," Sorry, I had no other way to get your attention. I needed a lift and you were my only option, " she said, apologetically white rubbing her frozen hands together.
Allen handed her a large towel from the backseat of his truck, "Here, use this to dry yourself, " he said, calmly.
"Thanks," she said, drying herself. Allen stared at her. Even in such a situation she looked extremely gorgeous. She wasn't more than twenty-nine or thirty.
"Have you run away from your own wedding?" He asked, starting the truck.
"Yes. But no more questions please. Else I'm getting down here," she said and Allen grinned. She had the guts to bargain in such a situation.
"Ok. Only one," he said and she nodded.
"Ask," she said with a bored expression.
Allen smirked. He felt so excited with her beside him. "What's your name?" He couldn't help asking.
She looked at him with wide eyes," I'm Hazel," she answered.
"Hazel what?" He asked.
"Only Hazel," she answered.
"You have to say your name too, you know," she said.
"Do I have to?" Asked Allen, teasing her.
"Yeah, that's how it goes. I told you mine," she said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Ok, I'm Allen McAllister," he said and she nodded her head.
"So where do I drop you? I don't mind taking you to my house," he said, again teasing her.
She rolled her eyes at him, "I'm going to Houston, to my grandma's house," she informed him.
Allen's face broke into a grin." I'm also going to Houston. I will drop you. Give me the address," he asked.
"165/A Stetson lane, Houston, TX 77043," she said and he entered it on his GPS and drove on.
He dropped her off at her address. "See you soon Hazel," he said before driving off. He would come tomorrow to check up on her. Excited at the prospect of seeing her again, he drove home.
