Chapter Seventeen
The next day, Jayson came to her office room and sat opposite her. "Alan Farrell has apologized on behalf of the company for the email that was sent by Roland Farrell," he declared with a smile.
"How did you make that happen?" Asked Karen, incredulously.
"I mailed Roland Farrell for the training cost proofs as well as the agreement copy. The reports he sent me weren't proof enough as your name wasn't mentioned in the employee training sheet. The agreement had your fake signature which I proved to him. Also there was a date dispute on the agreement. The date mentioned in the agreement as your date of signing was the day you took leave, calling in sick. So, I wrote to Roland with a cc to Alan that I would slap a case against Farrell Corps for falsely alleging you and demanding a lump sum amount from you," he said.
"I wrote to Alan about Roland sexually harassing and threatening you and also about his buying your rental place and forcefully evicting you although the rent was up to date. He promised to take action and immediately sent an apology mail taking back Roland's demand," said Jayson as Karen beamed happily.
"Thank you Jay, " she said, happily.
"That won't do, darling. Where's my thank you kiss?" He asked, smiling and looking at her lips.
"Not now," she said shyly.
"At home?" He asked.
"Yeah," she said.
At lunchtime Karen left early. Scarlett and Valentina were coming to check out their bridesmaid dresses. Jayson went to Austin with Jaden and Chase to get them tuxedos that matched his.
The wedding planner sent a therapist to trim Karen's hair, give her a spa massage and give her a pedicure and a manicure. Tomorrow was Sunday and her family would arrive from Halifax. She had spoken to them over the phone and was glad that they could finally make it for her wedding.
The next day at lunch the Summers brothers and Chase came over with their wives to bond before the wedding. They brought food and drinks with them.It was a small bachelorette party on behalf of their friends. They however left early as tomorrow was a big day for Jayson and Karen and they needed the rest.
After they left, Jayson drove her to the church to check out the decorations and take a walk around the holy place where they would be united forever.
In the evening she went to Jayson's dad's house to check the final touches being given to their reception venue. Mr Meyers was very happy to see her. Her parents, sister and brothers would be staying with Jayson's family. It was a huge mansion and his dad said he would be more than happy to have her family stay over. She thanked his dad profusely for being so considerate. His father gave them tickets to the Bora Bora islands in French Polynesia for their honeymoon trip. It was a wedding gift from him. They would leave three days after the wedding.
Her parents and brothers Warren, his wife Sera and Darren with his wife Michelle arrived along with their children. Her sister Lauren arrived from Austin with her husband Gary and six month old daughter Charlene.
It was a very emotional moment for them. After the introductions, they all bonded well with Jayson and his family. Karen was thankful that everything was going better than she had ever thought. They left home after dinner.
The next day, they woke up early. Jayson kissed his bride, "I've waited for this since the day I saw you. I'm the happiest man alive," he said, breaking the kiss.
"Me too," she said.
"Now that we're getting married, don't think for a second that I'll ever let you go. I will be married to you, I will cherish you as long as I live. For me, there's no other. I won't stop at one child. I want many children, a family with you to live happily ever after, " he said.
"I know. I love you Jayson and I shall be yours forever, " she said, holding his face in both hands.
He picked her hands and brought them close to his mouth and kissed them. "You love me?" He asked incredulously.
"Yeah," she answered shyly.
"Oh, I'm now the happiest man in the whole universe. " he just held her in his arms, hugging her tightly to himself. "I love you too, more than you can ever imagine possible, " he said, crushing her to his body.
They stayed like that for quite some time. "I think it's time for us to part only to be united as one soul at the altar. See you my beautiful bride," he said, releasing her.
"See you my Jay, " she said and he grinned.
"I hope you have rested well? You would need all your energy for me. I won't leave you tonight, " he whispered, licking the sensitive spot behind her ear. She shivered in response, closing her eyes. She was ready.
The doorbell rang and the wedding planner came in to whisk her away upstairs to get her ready. Jayson reluctantly left to go to his dad's house to get ready.
The bridal party trooped into his house to get ready for the wedding.
She wore a silky, embroidered lace mermaid gown with an illusion halter neckline and flaring from the knees into a floor-sweeping skirt. The sweetheart neck dips low at the back to give it a very dramatic effect. She paired it with pearl and diamond stud earrings that Jayson gave her as a wedding gift. Her mom gave a beautiful handcrafted veil that she had especially had it made for Karen. Her hair was fixed up in a coiled up do with a tendril sweeping her face.
"You're looking stunning, darling," said her mom as she kissed her forehead. "I never thought that this day would arrive so suddenly. I'm so happy you're settling down with such a fine gentleman," she said.
The bridesmaids wore a pale lavender gown, with the same illusion halter neck as the bride an A-line silhouette, figure-hugging embroidered bodice and a side slit. Scarlett's dress was a shade darker than the rest as she was the matron of honor. Juliette helped with everyone's hair. She had also fixed Karen's hair. Jade helped Benny and Charlie, Warren's 4 year old son, get ready. Austen also would walk down as ring bearer in his mommy's arms. Darren's twin six-year old daughters, Mia and Sara dressed up in light lavender dresses as flower girls.
Finally, it was time to go to the church. Karen's dad and mom escorted her to the cars Jayson arranged for them and they all headed to the wedding venue.
