Chapter Thirteen
The next morning Jayson woke up late for a change. He had the best sleep of his life. He found the place beside him empty. Where did she go? He got and checked the en-suite. She wasn't there. Freshening up, he went to look for her downstairs.
He saw her looking so refreshing and beautiful in a white sundress with her hair wet from a shower. She was so busy making breakfast that she didn't see him. He could get used to this everyday. He didn't feel lonely and depressed any more after spending a day with her at his home. He wanted to come home to her everyday.
For six years he had no one to share his life with. He worked like an automaton burying all his feelings deep down. Now that she was here, he felt alive again. With a sprint to his steps, he stood behind her in the kitchen, inhaling the aroma of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. A simple breakfast but it smelled so good when she made it. He stared at her from close. She smiled, "Good morning, Jay," she said softly.
"Good morning," he said, still staring at her.
"What?" She asked.
"Are you coming to the office with me?" He asked, expectantly.
"Yeah," she said and he sighed with relief.
"At lunchtime we will go to Austin and buy the wedding dress and stuff," he said and she nodded. What stuff?
Jayson went to another room with his clothes to shower and get ready for office leaving the master bedroom for Karen.
They reached the office together and everyone's eyebrows shot up. Jayson didn't bother, they should get used to seeing them together. After all, the wedding was happening in six days.
They drove to Austin during lunch time. Jayson parked in front of a huge designer wedding boutique. They went inside,"You go to the men's section for your tuxedo and I'll go and check out my wedding dress," said Karen.
"No, I'll go with you, " he said, stubbornly.
"Ok, but I won't parade in front of you in my wedding dress," said Karen and Jayson grinned.
"Are you planning to kill me with the suspense?" he asked. He wanted to see her in her wedding dress. He had really become impatient and he knew it.
"It's just few more days Jay, " she pleaded.
"Ok, I'll wait outside the trial room, ok?" He gave in.
So the wedding dress was purchased as well as the tuxedo. They chose the wedding rings too. Finally they drove to a shopping mall where they had pizza for lunch.
Jayson took her to a shop to buy dresses and accessories. "I don't need it," she said.
"Yes, you do. If you don't buy, I'll just pick up whatever I want you to wear and buy it," said Jayson, picking up a transparent dress.
"Wait. I'll choose," said Karen as she snatched the transparent dress and kept it back, glaring at him. He grinned mischievously.
Afterwards he took her to a lingerie shop and Karen turned around to escape. She wouldn't buy lingerie in front of him. Her cheeks coloured profusely at the thought. He caught her wrist and pulled her along. He picked up a blush pink lacy set and placed it in the shopping bag.
"What are you doing Jay?" She whispered, trying to snatch the shopping bag from him.
"Buy lots or else I'll buy enough so that I can see you in a different one every night," he warned, his eyes dancing with mischief.
"God, you're impossible. Go outside. I'll buy them myself, " she said, pushing him away.
Out of the corner of her eyes she saw him standing outside the lingerie shop chatting with a beautiful blonde with gorgeous long hair and wearing a pair of denim shorts and a red spaghetti top. She was holding Jayson's hand trying to pull him with her. He was looking at her indulgently. Karen was beyond herself with jealousy. How dare she flirt with her fiancé. She stomped out of the lingerie shop and went up to him.
"Jay I'm having problems selecting, please would you help?" She asked, blinded by jealousy, glaring at the girl. She looked young and exquisitely beautiful. She pulled his hand and brought him inside the shop, as he grinned from ear to ear.
"You didn't want me to help you, what happened?" He asked, pulling her into his arms and staring at her, his grin widening with every second.
"Nothing, I just changed my mind," she said, peering at the girl who still stood outside, staring at them and smiling.
"Are you jealous, darling?" He asked happily. He was very happy to see her reaction. It meant that she felt something for him.
She blushed and looked down. She was very jealous. She was burning with jealousy actually. He paid for her purchases and then went out towards the girl, who was waiting for them patiently with a grin on her face.
"Karen, meet my sister, Juliette Meyers. She's studying architecture at Austin," said Jayson. Then looking at Juliette he added,"Jules, this is my fiancée, Karen Richardson."
Karen felt so embarrassed, "Hi," she said but Juliette just jumped towards her and hugged her tightly. Jayson separated them, "Hey, don't crush her, Jules." He said.
Juliette squealed with happiness,"Jas, you're marrying? Oh my gosh, I can't believe it," she gushed. "When's the wedding?" She asked.
"Coming Monday," he declared and Juliette's jaw dropped.
"Isn't that too soon? How will I get my dress ready at such short notice?" She grumbled.
"You wear anything and come," he said as she glared at him. "It'll be a church wedding only."
"What's the hurry bro? I can't be ready and neither can Jaden and Jade," she wailed.
Karen smiled at their cuteness. Jayson glared at her. "Who's going to look at you anyways. Just come in anything. I can't postpone," he told her.
"What's the hurry bro?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
"Isn't it obvious, baby sis?" He winked and Karen rolled her eyes.
"No wonder you bought her a year's supply of lingerie. Who buys so many? " grumbled Juliette and Karen blushed more.
"Wait till dad hears it. He always thought that you weren't straight. He'd go crazy with happiness." Juliette said and Jayson made a face. Then she looked at Karen,"Are you expecting?" She asked, in a whisper.
"No, we didn't do it, " she said truthfully.
"Oh ok ok, no wonder he's in a rush to get married," said Juliette, grinning.
Juliette left after promising to visit them at Jayson's house. She was on a mission now to inform their dad that Jayson was marrying and that he was very much straight and in love.
